I Am Fond of This Weapon Already
At last. Something she did actually affected the armor. But rather than watch it fall from the sky, she was staring at her new Keyblade. There was still no water for her to use, but a feeling, an instinct within her stirred. Whether by her own volition or not--she could not be sure--water sprang from the mouth of the dragon head. Shock spread across her face for only about a second. This was clearly a gift, and she would not waste it.
She began to sing, catching the flowing liquid in an invisible grip before a drop of it hit the parched ground. The water swirled around her, moving with the lilting of her voice. She drew strength from it, invoking the water's healing properties to seal the wounds in her shoulder and hip and alleviate all traces of pain. When she finally stopped singing, the water splashed to the ground, lifeless once again.
The armor was hurtling toward her, sending a spray of shots in both her and Raen's direction. Two of her balls of light were still floating around her, so she put one of them directly in the path of the shots. The resulting explosion was a bit blinding, but she had enough sense to immediately strike her final orb of light, sending it to meet the armor head on, if possible.

Reactions. What a substantial improvement. It seemed that all it took for the girl to become an actual threat was to have her properly motivated. Motivation coming from her new found power. A Keyblade that provided a source of water even in the midst of a desert. An impressive property, but that alone would not suffice. Even the healed wounds could be easily opened once more. The bullet storm flying at the target came into contact with an energy sphere, causing a blinding explosion upon contact. The Havoc trembled, causing the sentient armor to lose balance in the shockwave following the explosion, for the sphere exploded only meters away from it. Both the Sentiment and its weapon plummeted to the ground, rolling forward for several meters. A second orb flew right by Animositas, missing its head by a couple of inches. Not that the impact would cause much damage. Worst case scenario, the Sentiment would simply need to find something to replace its head with. “Impressive,” its thought echoed in the girl’s mind. Images kept flashing on the armor’s mind as it slowly stood up, a firm grip on its humongous weapon. Having come into contact with this visitor had started to awaken old memories, if only fragments. The flashing images of Keyblades clashing and vanishing foes, scrambled and chaotic. Those weapons, more powerful than any other in the world… The fingers on its free left hand began fiddling back and forward as its feet made it start moving towards the pair. Each step producing a large metallic sound on contact with the ground, the menacing shadow of the sentient armor slowly approached. “Your worth…” it began, stretching its left hand, fingers joined into a deadly sharp point. “It has yet to be proven.”[Sky Menace finished. Three posts cooldown.]

Intruding Raen was still in a fair bit of shock over Lanying's sudden Keyblade-summoning and even more so by the fact that she had managed to strike the suit of armor straight on. To his surprise she was now conjuring water by simply using her Keyblade. Raen heard the armor's renewed assault just in time to quickly jump out of the way of the attack, but didn't even need to avoid the hailstorm of bullets that was descending on them--Lanying's new attack blocked all of them with ease, though he had to admit that the burst of light was pretty double-edged. Something was still fuzzy in his mind, though, and he wasn't sure if it was because of the fact that the armor was talking to them, or the remnants of shock from the recent turn of events. Gripping his forehead, he tried to focus, but to no avail. He hated to leave her, but he couldn't fight--not like this. " This is your fight, not mine. I'm sorry." Strangely enough, he was looking at her Keyblade as he said this. Something about it drew his gaze, and held it there. Stepping backwards, the Champion's word echoed quietly in the back of his mind: "But when her potential reveals itself, you will find things are not so clear cut as you would think...And you two are not on the same side."

Alone Again
The armor finally stopped flying around on that weapon and tumbled around on the ground for a bit. Too bad the third orb of light missed it. But now, the question became--would this new Keyblade have more of an effect against the armor than her old sword had? She would just have to try and find out herself.
She looked at Raen suddenly. He was backing off? Why? When he said that, he wasn't looking at her but rather at her new Keyblade. Surely, he wasn't having second thoughts about leaving her and Zack behind. She may have a Keyblade now, but she wasn't going to attack him with it.
There would be time to worry about that later. A very persistent and empty suit of armor was still very interested in testing her. Her grip tightened on Maelstrom's Dragon. "I do not need your approval to know what I am worth." Her weight shifted forward slightly. "But if you insist on continuing to attack me, then so be it. I will answer."
She dashed forward, Keyblade held at angle by her side, and aimed a horizontal slash straight across the armor's chest. Those sharpened fingers made her wary, but she would deal with them if they became a problem.

Havoc Unleashed. The second visitor was leaving. Perfect. His presence was unneeded. Unwanted. He had grown to realize that this fight, this test, was not for him to take part in. His disappearance from the battleground would certainly allow for things to be more straightforward. The Keyblade Wielder had fighting potential. Enough to cause flashing images before Animositas. As it approached the girl, its steps grew slower and louder, echoing even more in each move. The images of clashing weapons kept clouding its sight, as if trying to convey a message. "Keys... So... many..." its mind trailed off, leaving the present graveyard for a moment, distracted in the fragments of its past. Its marching forward stopped, mind no longer controlling the armor for an instant. It was sinking deeper into the scrambled images. A voice brought its mind back to where it belonged. Or rather, back to an object that should have never been able to move on its own. It was the girl, rushing towards her, Dragon blade at hand and about to strike the armor's side. Unwillingly, Animositas' right arm moved on its own, taking the rifle to its left and blocking the incoming attack, weapon pointing downwards and its arm bent above its head. But the weapon that it dragged to that position and the one that reached just in time to block weren't the same. Slowly turning its head to its left, the Sentiment saw the blade it was holding. The flashing light that had engulfed it before fading, it was now clear the fire arm had turned into a blade. A Keyblade. If Animositas could laugh, an insufferable chuckle would have come out of its non-existent mouth. How could its memory eroded so much it would even forget something as basic as that? Havoc was a Keyblade. "Get ready!" With new determination in its mind, a red stream of energy engulfed the walking armor, creating light distortions, and then disappearing from sight. A fraction of a second later, a static after image of the armor running could be spotted three meters away to the left of the girl. Not much after, two more after images could be seen behind those and to its sides. A second after, the armor itself showed back, standing over ten meters away, battle stance and weapon at the ready. You Cannot Have One of Them, Too. Can You?
The change in the armor's weapon surprised Lanying, as well. Confusion set in. What was this armor doing with a Keyblade? The only other Keyblade bearer she had encountered had been King Mickey. She had assumed that Keyblades were for people of the light, for those who would do good. But this strange Keyblade bearer had attacked her, even though she had done nothing to provoke it. What was going on here?
"Why do you have a Keyblade?" Her voice was at least filled with determination, if also filled with much puzzlement.
She received no immediate answer. Her opponent seemed to disappear in another distortion, and Lanying tensed. If it thought looking like her again was going to deter her, it was wrong. But that wasn't what happened. Instead, it moved. Very quickly. By the random appearances in vastly different locations, Lanying knew this was speed she was going to have a difficult time keeping up with. So, she decided not to try doing that.
Standing rooted to her current spot, she bade water pour from her Keyblade yet again and sang it into a shield around her. Rather than try to match the armor's speed, she would simply slow it down should it try to attack her.
Now, she would wait.

Apparitions .The girl was turning out to be much more skilled then she originally let on. It was starting to be evident that awakening to her potential as a Keyblade Master had granted her not only a surge of confidence, but a couple of skills to use against the animated object. A water shield was erected around her, ready to keep Animositas’ attacks at bay. Undeterred by the display, the armor began its attack. On the first step of its sprint forward it disappeared from sight once again, mirages appearing scattered around the battlefield in a chaotic manner. The Sentiment was not following any clear pattern of attack, the mirages’ distances to its target varying all the time, same as its positioning, for several could be seen in the middle of the air. The frantic movement continued for a little while more, Animositas even resorting to shattering rock pillars with its Keyblade at random so as to distract the girl. After the third or fourth pillar was turned to dust, the sentient armor jumped towards the next one, leaving an after image in the middle of the air, and held onto the side of the pillar for a fraction of a second. That was enough to leave a new after image there, before moving again. Using the rock formation as a platform, the armor propelled itself towards its target in an almost straight line, blade pointing forward in an attempt to pierce the water shield. The only warning given by such attack were the couple of after images created in quick succession in its path, and the sudden appearance of the Sentiment only feet away from impact. Had Enough Yet? -------- She didn't move from her spot, instead trusting to her shield to give her enough time to throw up her Keyblade to block whatever was coming her way. The armor's movements were certainly fast and hard to follow, but she found the whole display a little bit ridiculous. It was almost as if the thing was just showing off. If it was hoping to confuse her, then it was sadly mistaken. Even in the midst of battle, she was far too serene to fall for parlor tricks.
At last, the armor mounted an actual attack, which could possibly affect her, rather than persisting in dashing all over the place. It was a head-on charge. Of course, had her shield not been in place, she wouldn't have possessed the reflexes necessary to deflect the blow that came for her.
Then, her shield broke up into three spheres of water that she mentally flung in the armor's direction. They didn't have to travel any great distance, and Lanying was right behind the water orbs, ready to strike at the armor's chest with her Keyblade.

Inefficient The shield had proven stronger than expected. At least momentarily, enough to stall Animositas’ momentum, rendering its attack pointless. The impact of the blade against it stopped the armor’s movement right in place, if only for enough time for the shield to change into an offensive weapon. The three spheres of water that came from the shield floated in the air for a moment, their images reflecting on the visor of the armor. Had it been able to predict such behavior from what was until moments ago a defensive instrument, Animositas may have had the possibility of moving out of harm’s way. But now, the best it could do was to bring its Keyblade close to its body and use it to cover itself. Only one sphere was blocked properly, the other two managing to hit its torso and left leg, sending the Sentiment flying backwards a couple of meters. The echo of the hollow armor hitting rock welcomed it as it landed on the ground, its position similar to that of a thrown out ragdoll. Another surge of flashes flooded its mind, clearing its thoughts. Its memories moved it, but they were the wrong ones. The new fragments that returned cleared the image of its past slightly. Sitting up slowly, Animositas stabbed its blade on the ground behind itself, the Keyblade returning to its gigantic rifle form. The upper body of the Sentiment leaned back on it, returning to the position in which it had been found. “Clean strikes…” it spoke into the mind of the girl it had assaulted minutes ago. There was no need to fight anymore. The very few fragments of its mind it had had confused it, but after battling and recovering several more, it could tell that it had misjudged the newly awakened Keyblade Wielder. “Leave,” it concluded, the voice sounding almost… gentle.

Time to Go -------- Finally, Lanying did substantial damage to the suit of armor. It stumbled backward, appearing somewhat in a daze. Now, it was finished, she thought. It had to be finished. And finished, it was. The armor replaced its Keyblade--now turned back into the original weapon--in the ground and resumed its sitting position. The voice echoed in her mind one last time. She didn't have to be told twice to leave. Strangely enough, there was little harshness left in the voice.
Even though the armor was still once again, she made her Keyblade vanish and bowed respectfully toward it. Whether or not it was aware of her display didn't matter. It had been a challenging yet fair opponent, and it deserved her respect.
Turning at last to Raen, she studied him silently for a few moments. "Where is Zack?" She looked around but could find him nowhere nearby. Striking off in the direction of the ship, she beckoned Raen to follow her. "We should find him. And if you see any other suits of armor laying around, don't touch them, please."

Clarity Returns So, it was over. To him, the entire time spent in this world was like a giant haze until Lanying had defeated the armor. As soon as the lifeless suit sat down on the ground and resumed its repose, it was as if the sun had burnt away all of the fog in his mind. And yet, watching the fight was something of wonder for him. How long had it been since the wielders of Keyblades fought on this ancient ground? It was a parallel he couldn't help but draw. And then her voice brought him back to reality. Going at a brisk walk to catch up to her, he commented snarkily, " Knowing Zack, he's probably still conked out in the ship." Instinctively looking for other suits of armor when she mentioned it, he thought to himself, " I'd rather not have to deal with that crap again." Hopefully Zack was somewhere near. Raen had had enough of this depressing dust-bowl of a world.

Zack had continued on further into the world, but his cheeriness that he had when he first woke up was beginning to disappear. This world was barren and the further he went that was all it seemed it was ever going to be. "How big is this place?!" he yelled out in frustration at one point, before continuing on. He hoped he would find Raen or Lanying soon.
Soon he happened upon a sight that he wasn't expecting. A field of weapons. As he approached he realized they looked similar to weapons he had seen before. He ran over and picked one up, looking at it. "Now why are all these here...?" he wondered aloud. The further he went in this world the more questions he had about it.

Finally. On the road again~ -------- In her usual way, Lanying had taken the lead and was practically storming back to the ship. She had had enough of this world and crazy suits of armor that liked to attack people. It was high time for a change of scenery. In fact, the longing to see her home again was suddenly very heavy upon her.
Lo and behold, there was Zack strolling through the sea of Keyblades. So, Raen had been wrong. Zack wasn't still snoozing on the ship, though he soon would be back on it if Lanying had anything to say about it.
"Zack!" She tried not to sound too sharp, but there was a sense of urgency present inside her. That other voice had been very insistent that she return as soon as possible to her homeworld.
"We're leaving!" Waving him toward her, she continued on toward the ship, not stopping until she was on board and sitting in a seat. Then, the full weight of exhaustion settled on her. Her eyelids fluttered closed, and she drifted off to sleep, barely registering the movement of the ship as they took off once more.
