Things Need Fixing Mickey had apparently already been to Radiant Garden and saw the damage. He was now looking for a way to fix this imbalance problem, which Lillian, like Soren, hadn't seen as a problem. Sure, too much of one thing was a bad thing, but darkness was bad period. All it seemed to do was corrupt and destroy; how could that be good? Clearly, Mickey wanted to figure that out too and get it so there was a balance yet again. Lillian just had no idea how to go about that at this point or even if she agreed; the less darkness corrupting people and destroying worlds, the better.
"The thing that I don't get," Lillian started to say after taking a few more sips of water, "Is what the light can do if there's too much of it. I mean, we know what the darkness can do. It destroys worlds and corrupts people. Can light do the same? I always assumed it could only do good, not bad." That probably had to do with her romanticized view of things, one of which included the government in her own world. She hadn't seen them doing wrong, though people told her that it was. But still, this was light and darkness. It just didn't fit that the light was bad and that maybe the darkness had good qualities to it.
This conversation was starting to get deep and into territory she didn't really want to get into; maybe she should go "fix" her ship for now and let these guys have their deep conversation. She stopped leaning on the wall and put the canteen down after taking one last good swig from it. "I think I'm going to go try and fix my ship now so I don't have to later. It was nice meeting all of you." She let her tone get a little cheerful as she gave Mickey a short bow and started making her way back through the desert. Once she made the arduous trip over, she looked around for supplies to attach her ship to Elrick's ship, hoping he wouldn't mind. She did sort of just meet him recently, but she would rather not feel like she was being watched on her own ship...

Before Mickey, Soren and the others could grasp it, the sun had already gotten low in the sky and the night had neared while the day had ended. The fiery heat that had plagued him had no dispersed since now It was now getting darker and even much colder then it was when he first arrived on this world. For a moment the sun lingered on the horizon, while many didn't realize the correlation between what they were talking about and the very sun itself. The only point of true balance of day and night was dusk and dawn, the beginning and the end. To Ain it was just the point that it is equally cold and equally hot, do you like it cold or hot? Both are not so good but combined it is not so bad. Ain stood up and broadened his shoulders as Lillian had left, giving a nod to her from the stance of a soldier. He doubted that they would meet again, but what lingered in his mind was the points that both Soren and Lilian had made. He had thought about it himself, if it was a battle over the horizon to decide if it would be day or night, it was probably much the same to Darkness and Light. "I think it is wrong to assume darkness corrupts, instead it is what lies within the shroud of the darkness. I'm sure things that corruption lies in the brightness of the light much the same." he stated as the cool air hit him, his dark hair fluttering off to the side of his face. Taking his canteens back he walked into the center of the market place and turned around. "Soren, you can come with me if you need to, but It would be better for you to travel with them." he stated, "I should get going from this world, Mickey, I appreciate your help today. I'm off."

Hey, one step towards Ain not being a jerk! : D Well, that was unexpected of Ain to offer him a spot, no matter how begrudgingly he did it. Um, nobody else but the mouse dude had offered a ride, and...Soren wasn't sure if a mouse's ship would be big enough to fit him. Did they have smaller ships? Was he being racist? Could you be racist against a mouse? Was it more being a speciesist? Were people who insulted him speciesists, too, since he was only half-human? Did that count as raci- Screw it, that was too much trouble. Going on a ride with the mouse dude would be cool and all, but these sort of questions would be plaguing him for the entire time. Well, that left Ain, Mr. I'm-Too-Good-To-Keep-Up-My-End-Of-A-Conversation. It was all cool, though. Maybe he had, like, some issues or something. Like his girlfriend jsut broke up with him or whatever. "Don't worry, man, I won't make a sound. You'll barely know I'm there. And to make up for it, I'll help you out with...whatever it is you do. Shipping stuff or whatever. You know, move things around, talk to people for you so you don't scare them away, all that stuff." Of course, he was going to be quiet for the first part of the trip, but undoubtedly it would eventually turn into Soren trying to get a conversation started with him, which was a lot like starting a conversation with a brick wall that had the ability to punch you in the face if you went too far. This was going to be fun.

Parting Ways
Everybody seemed to be leaving. Well, that had definitely been a short meeting. Lillian had left first, saying she needed to go fix her ship, though from what Mickey had seen, her ship hadn't looked like it was in too much need of repair. It might need a few dents banged out, and it could probably use a new coat of paint. But it still looked able to fly. She had made a good point, though. None of them really knew what the light could do if it was too strong. The darkness clearly destroyed without mercy, but this was unfamiliar territory for all of them. Maybe the light really wouldn't go out of control just as easily as the darkness. It was difficult to say what would happen until it actually happened. Speculation was a fruitless exercise right now.
His invitation to the guy with wings went unheeded, and the guy left with Ain anyway. Now, it was just Mickey and Elrick left beneath the wooden walkway. The king scratched at one of his ears in thought. "Lillian's right, ya know? We know for certain that too much darkness is bad. But could it be possible for someone to be corrupted by light?" He was mostly thinking out loud at this point. Theoretically, a person might be corrupted by too much light, but Mickey had no idea what that corruption would look like. For all he knew, he was slowly being corrupted by the light. That was a simultaneously interesting and scary thought.
Shaking his head, he dusted himself off and then bid Elrick goodbye. "It was good to meet ya. Could ya tell your lady friend goodbye for me, too?" He winked and laughed, then began making his way toward the city gates. While he hadn't learned too much that he didn't already know, personally seeing the Heartless in so weak a state further compounded his worries. Maybe it was time to return home to check on everybody.

It must be the heat. Or the desire. Or the sand. Or the thread title in its entirety. That was certainly turning into a short rest under the shade, with everybody leaving left and right. Lillian was the first to leave, heading back to fix her ship, though Elrick presumed that was just an excuse for something else. In all likelihood, she may just have wanted to get away from there. Then the other two men left, whom he honestly didn’t pay much attention to, leaving only Elrick and the king alone for a short while. The mouse wondered aloud of what corruption by light could ever look like, but Elrick didn’t answer his inquisition. As far as he had observed back home, it didn’t have any physical traits like with darkness. It was quite the opposite. Those back home who had been corrupted had only changed in their mentality, even becoming mindless fanatics. Regardless, Elrick stood up as the king bid him farewell, to which he responded quickly with a short bow. “I’ll make sure to send her your regards. Until we cross paths again King Mickey,” he bid him as he watched him walk away, back to the city gates. Elrick had just noticed it was starting to get dark, which meant he should probably head back to his ship to retrieve his clothes, for the night in the desert could be like a complete opposite of the day. Figuring he might not stay around for long anyway, he took a little detour back to his ship. Walking a few meters away from the wooden pathway, he looked up to see the buildings above and to his surroundings. The city seemed to have been built with climbing in mind, the pathways and blocks that helped reach higher sections evidencing this. He took a short sprint to his side, jumping to the wall as he reached it and holding onto the ledge. Pulling himself up to this first level, he turned around and took the pathway to the opposite building, now climbing upwards more directly, using the windows’ sills as main grab points as he climbed upwards. As he reached the top, he turned to his right and observed the town. There were quite a few buildings as tall as the one he was standing on, but nothing taller. Except of course for the humongous palace far in the distance. He could also spot the market section, with people taking down some stands as the night approached. Deciding that was enough sightseeing for the day, he turned on his feet and started making his way outside the city, jumping from roof to roof, reaching the city walls in a matter of minutes. He took one last leap from the roof of a decently high building and onto the wall, which contained a walkway itself. Probably used by guards in difficult times. He looked to the desert, seeing the two ships not that far away from the wall. Lillian was obviously there already… and something seemed to be connecting both ships. It seemed like a chain, which probably meant she couldn’t fix her ship. “Or she wants things to go down south tonight,” Elrick let the thought slip his mind, promptly slapping himself on the forehead to make any weird ideas leave his head. Once his head was clear, he jumped down from the wall and landed on the desert below, once again his feet slipping in the sand. He approached the ships as fast as he could, since the sun was almost down and he could already feel the temperature dropping fast. “So, you couldn’t fix the ship, huh?” he commented to Lillian, despite how obvious the situation was. It just seemed more polite than to rub it into her face that she should have slowed down in the first place.

It's Not What It Looks Like! It took a fair amount of work and determination, but Lillian finally got the two ships connected to each other. It was a good thing she had some extra chains lying around or this would have never worked. Now, she just had to wait for Elrick to get back and they could leave this place in his ship; she wouldn't feel like someone was watching her in his ship, right? Well, he did reassure her that he wasn't a stalker, but one couldn't be too careful. Hopefully he'd actually let her on his ship too; it wasn't like she was going to do anything bad... oh dammit he was probably going to be thinking that wasn't he? She almost wanted to shoot herself.
"Maybe I'm just being paranoid..."
she thought to herself as she looked over her ship. It needed a new paint job for sure and she didn't like those dents. She then looked at the door, deciding to take just one look around inside. She stepped in, holding one of her guns in both hands as she scoped out the area. Everything seemed normal and nothing was out of place, but still... She turned around sharply, pointing her gun at what she thought was a person. Nope, it was thin air. She had been sure someone had been behind her right then. "Great, my little brother is probably haunting my ship... or I'm losing it." She didn't like either thought, both of them sort of solemn. For now, she'd just ignore them as she left her ship and shut the door. Sure enough, Elrick came back within a few minutes and gave her a smart-ass comment. Though, after being around him for a few days, it was almost expected. "Sure likes it, doesn't it?" she retorted, a sort of smug look on her face. "Just don't tell anyone, all right? I don't need word geting around that a First-Class pilot couldn't fix her own ship. I hope you don't mind... And I promise not to say anything about your flying; I'll be nice." She could "fix" the ship, and figure out what the hell was hiding in it, later. For now, she'd hide out in his ship and do her best to not be a back-seat pilot, a bad habit she had back on Libertas that she needed to get rid of.[/blockquote]

Being a creepy stalker is a lot harder than they make it out to be in the movies. After hiding out on that girl's ship for a week, Humor was starting to get seriously bored. And so, he started to get out of his hiding place. But no, obviously Fate was laughing at him, because at that moment, the ship's owner walked in. Humor immediately became a part of the scenery, a Shadow Heartless which then compressed itself to the floor. Luckily, she didn't see him.
After she passed by, Humor decompressed, assuming she was headed for the cockpit, as he was unaware that she had chained her ship to Elrick's. Unfortunately, she decided to spin around, and he was forced to flatten himself again. And that was tiring. When she went back to the door, Humor realized his mistake, and the truth of matters. But, anyways, it was too late. She closed the door, and therefore sealed him inside. He didn't feel like opening a dark corridor, so, instead, he began looking around inside her ship, shifting first back to his natural state.
Soon, he found a board game. Of course, Humor knew that playing a board game by one's self was boring, so he quickly summoned a Wizard Heartless, and taught it the rules of the game. The Heartless began playing with its companion, the game called Checkers. It would have been more fun playing with one who had a bit more of a mind than the Wizard...but that could not be helped. Hopefully, they would get out of this place soon, and-
At that, the ship began to grate against the ground. "Ah, we must be taking off, good." Unfortunately, the Wizard had panicked and left through a dark portal. Humor sighed and moved back to the corner of the ship he had dubbed 'his corner' and sat back. "Ah, well, I suppose maybe next time, eh?"
