I hope this isn't poisonous.

"Thanks,[/color]" she said, taking the fruit from him. Normally she wouldn't just take and eat a strange fruit. It could be poisonous or otherwise really really nasty. But when she bit into it, she was pleasantly surprised. It had a kind of citrusy taste... or maybe melon? She wasn't exactly sure but it was tasty, so she wasn't going to complain.

Of course, neither one of them were aware of the myths surrounding the fruit. But, really, wasn't it just a myth? And even if it was true that anyone who shared a paopu fruit had their destinies intertwined forever... did that still apply if the people in question had no idea what they were doing? These were questions that would probably never be answered, at least not in this case.

Emi finished off her portion and looked at her hands. Sticky. Of course, she could just down to the water and wash off her hands, or over to the nearby waterfall. That wasn't going to happen, so she sighed and settled for sticky hands.

"I don't think Arc is here,[/color]" she said. "We should go somewhere else. Preferably with no water?[/color]"

[Castle]

Castle sat down on the ramp next to her and watched her take the first bite. She seemed pleased with it, so he tried some of his piece. It was pretty good. Kind of citrusy, but not really sour. He stared out at the expanse of ocean before them and pondered while he ate.

What really happened a minute ago? Was that darkness on his arm real? It was impossible, right? He wasn't affiliated with darkness. He lived in the light, even though his home world technically resided "in between." It had to be a trick of his imagination, or maybe a normal shadow from one of the palm trees. Yeah, that had to be it.

And that pressure... was just him being angry and hungry at the same time. Definitely.

He finished his piece of the fruit and wiped his gloved hands on his pants.
"Sure. But what do you have against the water?" he asked, a grin finally returning to his face, albeit a small one.

Emi got flustered and her cheeks went red. She stood up and started walking back towards the gummi ship. "It's nothing,[/color]" she said as she walked away. "I just don't like all this water, okay? Please, let's just go.[/color]"

She pulled open the hatch of the ship roughly. "If you aren't over here in thirty seconds, I'm going to leave you behind. Starting now. One, two, three...[/color]"

Castle started to run over and Emi reached down and picked up her jacket, rummaging through the pockets until she found her list.

She could barely read her own handwriting, but as Castle jumped into the ship she just shoved the paper back down into the pocket and pulled the coat back on. She felt a lot better now that she had sleeves covering her arms- she had felt Castle staring earlier. He closed the door just as Emi was pulling her gloves back on. "Twenty-nine, thirty,[/color]" she continued. "Good, you made it. Let's go.[/color]"

On to the next world.
