"If you wish your heart back, as most do, you are reliant on the balance between light and dark. In order to obtain Kingdom Hearts, the dark must be strong enough to claim hearts, but the light strong enough to release them... and as things currently stand, I am running out of time before the damage done to darkness becomes permanent. I will need to remove a great deal of light sometime soon before that happens." The Champion mused.
"Oh, and between you and me, another reason you might aid me is because..." The Champion strode forwards, right next to her, and whispered in her ear a few sentences, too softly for anyone else but her to hear. He then turned around, walking back to his position. "All I need from you is what you were probably going to do anyways... there is a group of Nobodies seeking out Kingdom Hearts to regain their lost hearts. I want you to join them and let me know what they are doing." Now he glancing back at Lethe and Kyza, addressing the Heartless. "You two understand intimately how much the darkness is weakened; the pendulum of light and darkness is failing. Will you aid the one who seeks to prevent the darkness from vanishing forever?"

Acquiescence -------- Well, that was certainly convincing enough for her. The one desire she could still say she almost truly felt was the desire for her heart back. It was obvious, even without Lethe and Kyza's confirmation, that the darkness was on its way out should nothing be done about the glaring intensity of the light. And if the Champion was to be believed, without the darkness, getting her heart back suddenly became a fruitless venture. A dream, nothing more.
Though, the words he had for her ears alone did elicit one raised eyebrow from her. "You don't want anyone else to know this?" The "why" was implicit.
She wasn't going to linger very long on that piece of information, though. Even if permission was given to share it, she probably would not. Knowing such a thing was a privilege, and she recognized it. "Very well. If all you need to know is their current activities, I will help you. But I need to find them first. Or be found by them, however it works."
Shifting her eyes to Lethe and Kyza, she said, "And I don't know if the two of you can come with me."

I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR FOREVER AND A HALF. Just then, Ava stepped through the still-open Window, and it closed behind him. He had stopped to smell the roses, so to speak, and only just then had remembered who lay on the other side of the Window. The others seemed to have no sense of patience, and had rushed in and began conversation without him, which wasn't very nice of them.
Looking at the Champion for a second time, he took in the odd appearance--they both looked odd! This contributed to his idea that they should be friends--and then said, "Heya, Champion! Last time I saw you, you were in a jungle. Now you're here!" Feeling the bonds in the back of his mind, the Chaosling wondered if the Champion could feel them too. Either way, though, it didn't really matter.
But why was the Champion here? Did he have a reason to be here? Well, Ava supposed it was deep within the darkness, and so it kinda made sense, but still. This was a Heartless world, a place where those without hearts went. As far as Ava could tell, the Champion still had his. Oh well. It didn't really matter, because now they could talk.

Lethe and Kyza had both been considering the Champion's words with bemusement. They hadn't really ever considered the nature of their bond. It just was. As they were.
Being an agent of the darkness, did he hate order? Would he attempt to seperate them?
But now he asked them if they would fight to keep the darkness from being exterminated. Well, of course they would. Both knew that if they didn't, they'd die- but the important part was that the other would die, too. That was unthinkable.
"Yes. We will."
"Of course we will."
Both of them looked questioningly at their mistress. There was confusion in their gaze, confusion and more than a bit of hurt.
"Why not, mistress?"
"If necessary, we can keep ourselves secret from the others."

The Champion gestured to Lethe and Kyza, briefly ignoring Ava. "There are two ways for you to help me. You can continue to serve your mistress, if possible. Or you can seek out others of the darkness. There is a war of darkness and light coming." Now he was addressing all four people there. "The first battle of it will be..." Here he sighed, looking somewhat troubled. "...The 25th of this month. I need those of darkness to stand behind me against those of the light..." He looked at Liana.
"No one is to know of your connection with me. Hide it at all costs." Then he turned to Ava. "Being of Chaos, I am aware you have connections with the witch. Her and her servants must be let known that if they wish to snuff out light, I request their presence at the Keyblade Graveyard on the 25th." He turned away from them, stepping forwards a bit. "There is also another problem. Someone on Radiant Garden is somehow managing to keep the darkness I planted there from growing much stronger. I need to know who they are and what they are like to determine if I must rid myself of them. If any of you can come across that information, I would be glad to hear it. All I know is that it is a female."

Is That Everything? -------- Liana could recognize the pained looks on the Heartless' faces. And she could hear the confusion in their voices. She had not meant to hurt them. Perhaps cold logic was too much for some people. She had to remember that not everyone was missing their hearts like she was.
They wanted to stay with her. Somewhere, in the deep recesses of memory, she knew what that kind of connection was. Or at least, she remembered a kind of connection she had experienced.
Owen.
The name surfaced in her mind like a bubble rising through water. Yes, she had been fond of him, perhaps even loved him. Death had taken him from her, so it didn't matter anymore. And she might as well be considered dead. Her feelings were.
After studying Lethe and Kyza, she nodded. Remembering how she had felt when she couldn't be with Owen, she said, "I'm simply unsure how the other Nobodies would react to you. They did, as you told me, once slaughter many of your kind."
Was that concern? No. Not unless losing a hammer was an event worthy of concern.
"But if you are willing to take that risk, then you may come with me."
The Champion had finished speaking to Ava about something--more allies for his side, it seemed. And now, he was talking about someone on that Radiant Garden world. Liana filed that information away, but didn't place too much importance on it. Her main task would be tracking down the Nobodies.
There was one other thing she needed to know before this meeting ended. "If I am to provide you with information, how will I find you?"

What does it mean? Ava nodded. I can tell them about the war, and to go to the Keyblade Graveyard. Kadaj will be excited. And so would he. Except that he would be on the opposite side of Aerith, and that wouldn't be good. But Aerith wouldn't go there where they were fighting, would she? She wasn't a fighter at all... No, the Chaosling thought resolutely, she wouldn't go to where the fight was.
Fighting alongside Kadaj again would be nice...but this light woman, the one messing up the seeds of darkness the Champion had sown? Who was she...Aerith? Ava thought about it for a moment. It's gotta be her. From the words he'd used, he didn't wanna be friends with her...and if he meant her harm, then the Chaosling wasn't about to tell him anything.
As he thought about Aerith and harm, Ava felt for his bonds in his mind. A searing blaze warmed his body, and a calming warmth soothed it. Yes, his bondmates were safe. Hoping that the Champion wouldn't be able to sense what he had just done, Ava said, "I'll tell Auntie Mally and Kadaj for you. I'm sure they'll be excited." Nodding to himself, Ava then thought of something. His question...
"Champion...what does it mean to be what I am? I figured since you know a lot, you could tell me."

Lethe and Kyza nodded in unison, willing to accept the risk. "They did lead ours to oblivion, yes."
"But we are more careful than others of our kind."
"Otherwise we might have fallen in one of the slaughters. We will be hidden."
"Yes."
With their future more certain, they looked at the Champion. They had no questions of their own- besides, he had yet to answer Ava's question.

"This is the only world upon which I am not vulnerable to being sensed, and a location of great importance to my plans." The Champion told Liana. "Should you wish to speak with me, return here to this room, and I shall appear for you if it is possible. As for you, Chaos being..." He looked at Ava. "I have not encountered such as you before... but Chaos does not typically plan out. It is ever changing and fickle. I would say if you have any purpose, that purpose is to simply do as you wish. And you should know as well as I what chaos itself means... change."

More Important Things to Do -------- Liana nodded once, satisfied with the arrangements. Anything else that was going to be discussed, what Ava was interested in, did not concern her. She could at last focus back on locating these Nobodies she kept hearing about.
She had no more words for the Champion. "Lethe. Kyza."
Opening a Corridor was almost like breathing to her now. She could do it without too much thought. With a final glance at both Ava and the Champion, she stepped through, making sure her Heartless companions followed before she closed it again.

A simple answer for a simple mind. Ava nodded at the Champion's response. He was meant to do as he wished, and chaos was change, and he had been changing, as well as doing what he wanted; so he wasn't doing anything he wasn't meant to. Except maybe make friends with Aerith. But that was because she was so nice...which made her dangerous to the Champion's plans. But Ava wasn't going to let anything bad happen to her.
Watching Liana, Lethe, and Kyza leave, Ava felt a pang of sorrow. The next time he would see them would probably be when they went to war against the light, a war Ava wanted to fight but didn't want to fight at the same time. It seemed strange; not wanting to fight when it had once seemed to consume his existence. But he did want to fight; he just didn't want to fight any of Aerith's friends. It would make her sad when he hurt them.
The Chaosling didn't have any illusions about that; if it came down to it, he would have to fight them, and he would win, and they would be injured. But he didn't want to have to hurt them if it would make Aerith sad... The whole thing was frustrating on multiple levels. But he had his orders, so to speak, and now was the time to go and carry them out. "See you on the twenty-fifth, Champion~" Ava chimed as he opened a Window of Chaos and was whisked away on the ethers of Oblivion.

The Champion simply stood there for a second, turning back to look at the door that was not there. "What luck." He said dryly to the empty air. "A chance meeting gets me sources of information I need that I do not already have. Perhaps now things will go smoother." The golden sword appeared in his hands. "Then again, perhaps they won't."
And with that statement, he vanished in a flash.
