Just Prolonging It Ah. The Superior had one or two surprises. Saïx saw the sphere of red light just soon enough to raise his claymore in defense. The beams shot outward- he deflected some and others missed, but he could not strike them all. Two pierced him, and he fell back for a second. Wounded, but not seriously. Good. He was fine. What was Xemnas trying to prove? He was going to die and they all knew it. Was he just dragging it out as long as he could, wounding the others out of spite? Floating again? I could kill him if I went berserk, but that is not required. Axel can strike him down, but if he waits too long I shall use the moon's power anyway. He had waited long enough for Xemnas's death. He would not wait a second longer.

It's gettin' hot in here; for Kingdom Hearts' sake, keep your cloak on. -------- For the supposed Superior of the Organization, Xemnas was such a coward. What was he doing? Did he think that if he just floated in the air long enough, the three of them would get bored and leave? Well, Axel was certainly bored, but there was no way in hell he was leaving while Xemnas was still alive.
At least the old man was trying to put up a fight now. Axel did his best to deflect any of the beams that came his way. Although he was fast, he couldn't dodge everything and a few of the beams caught him in the ribcage. The hits didn't hurt nearly as much as he thought they should. They were certainly a far cry from the Hero's shockwaves or even the Schemer's meteors.
Think you can stay up there, do you? We'll see about that.
A single look apiece for Saïx and Zexion warned them off for the time being. Things were about to get a lot hotter.
If Xemnas thought he could stay afloat in the aftermath of Solar Flare, he was more stupid than any of them probably thought.
Wreathed in fire, Eternal Flames flew at Xemnas repeatedly until, finally, fire exploded in pillars directly beneath King Monologue.

So it seems. Xemnas was struck by each of the attacks, the flames scorching his black cloak. The pillar of fire was almost unneeded afterwards; almost as if it was something of an afterthought, as though he should probably just use overkill. The Nobody lost control over his power of anit-gravity and fell.
Unfortunately, this plummet led him directly to Saïx's feet. Slowly standing, Xemnas drew his ethereal blades, but his heart was not in it. It appears I am to lose this fight. Kingdom Hearts...it will be longer until you and I are reunited. Taking a half-hearted swing at Saïx, Xemnas' fate was assured. But there would be others. As surely as he had once joined with Kingdom Hearts, there would be others.
And he would never be gone permanently. Though his form might die, he would be back in another form, another incarnation, regardless of whether that other is in any way related to him.

Finishing the Fight Saïx watched the Superior fall to his feet, blocked his weak blow without an effort. Now was the time. He could kill Xemnas. Finally, after all this waiting, all this planning and sneaking, he could destroy Xemnas. No Organization member was more aware of their emotionless state than Saïx. However, although he would never admit it, in that one moment he could almost feel a great wave of triumph. Almost. "I've waited a long time for this." Saïx raised his claymore high. He looked down at Xemnas, coldly victorious and composed. "Fade into nothing," he said calmly, and brought down his claymore with all of his strength. Lunatic gleamed and flashed in the moonlight as he struck twice, then once more for good measure. He had won.

Et tu, Zexion? Then fall Xemnas. Xemnas watched the blow fall as if in slow motion. It hadn't happened this way before, of course. No, it had occurred in a much different manner last time. Last time, there was nothing. This time, there was a difference. It was slow, his death. Or, rather, his slip into nonexistence. The extremities went first, fingers, toes, and, eventually, arms and legs. As bits of him faded away, Xemnas looked up up at Zexion.
"You as well, Zexion? I had thought you most loyal." Xemnas' body shuddered involuntarily. What is this I am remembering? Something...powerful. It was dread. Suddenly, Xemnas realized; he did not wish to give up his nonexistence so soon. "Then so I fall, into the ethers once more.
"Do not assume to be rid of me forever, though," Xemnas laughed, though it was more of a cough than a laugh. "I will return; if not in this form, then in another. Not with my memories, perhaps, but my essence retained. Though I fall now, I will be more powerful than any of you three can imagine."
After all, if he was going to die, he might as well die as he lived; making vague threats and spouting long monologues that no one listened to.

I Have Come to Bury Xemnas, Not Praise Him Did Xemnas truly believe he could prolong this much more? Floating into the air was going to do nothing for him. Axel attacked, and he fell toward Saïx. The Diviner attacked, the moon in his eyes as he did. That was all that was needed. The fight had finished and Xemnas was fading. It had started with the extremities, but it wouldn't take much longer before he would be completely gone. The three had succeeded in their effort.
Of course, Xemnas could not fade with silence. He made eye contact with the Schemer, going on about loyalty. He had nothing to say to that. The loyalty card had been played for this long and Xemnas had believed it. There was no need to answer to him now. Zexion continued to stare coldly at him as he spoke more, talking about how he would return but in another form. This was laughable at first, but the words settled into the tactician's mind quickly.
"Be warned that your actions will have consequences that will be most dire."
No, that was impossible. It could never happen. There was no way it could possibly occur.
Zexion ignored the thoughts for the moment, glancing down at his open Lexicon before looking back to Xemnas. He shook his head to the other Nobody, choosing not to respond to his words. "Farewell Xehanort." His tone was tart, his eyes cold as his weapon glowed. Light began to encircle Xemnas. One last illusion. One last gift for him before he faded completely into oblivion.
Once the light was gone, he would be as well.

Already, we'll all float on...all float on... Fitting, the light sends me off. Xemnas knew it to be Zexion's work, and he would have thanked the Nobody for it, had he felt anything, or been capable of it at this point. Instead, he stayed silent, knowing that that would be the only thing necessary from him now.
And thus, silently, Xemnas faded away fully. Xehanort was dead, yet again.

I'll just awkwardly stand here now. -------- It was over. Too bad it hadn't lasted very long. Axel had wanted to see Xemnas suffer more than that.
Vengeance had been wrought. Vengeance for what Xemnas had done to all of them. But especially for what Xemnas had done to Roxas.
Not that killing Xemnas would bring back Roxas, of course.
His chakrams disappeared from his hands, and he straightened out of a battle stance. Now that this was done, what would happen? He couldn't think of any appropriate words to say. Not that he was willing to waste his time coming up with eulogies for dead Nobodies that he had never liked.
He also wasn't sure if he should be leaving or not. Xemnas was gone, so was the call for his death also gone?
"Well, now what?"

The real work begins now. Silence reigned in the World that Never Was, a silence that would not be in danger from Xemnas's monologuing. Saïx took it in for a few minutes. Xemnas was gone. And it had been Saïx that had delivered the last blow. How very fitting. But now he had to stop concerning himself with such matters. Gloating over the Superior's death wouldn't get him his heart any faster. Xemnas was the past now, and Saïx was hardly the type to reminisce. He turned to Axel. "Now we work. The others should be informed, and any power struggles should be avoided if necessary." Saïx's mind was moving quickly as he considered everything. He had often been forced to serve as a sort of surrogate Superior while Xemnas distracted himself with trivial things, so this was not difficult for him. "A dictatorship wouldn't work, at least not from the start. Too risky. There'd be fights, which would be distracting from the main goal." He thought carefully about the possibilites before finally saying, "We should gather the others and discuss this." He turned towards Zexion. "Anything else?"

And the Fun Begins... The Superior was gone. Zexion's mind didn't pay too much attention to his fading nor did he have anything to say after it. His mind was already on something else, what to do next. The others, much to the Schemer's chagrin, needed to be gathered and told what just occurred; two meetings in two days was not something he liked to do, but this was important. During that meeting, the Organization would have to pick its next move. That move would involve the Champion, no doubt.
Zexion nodded his head as he heard Saïx say the exact thing his mind thought, also agreeing with the next point. A dictatorship was not how an Organization should be run, not at all. They would need to figure this out in the meeting, something the Organization should decide as a whole. "The Organization also needs to be warned about the Champion's current actions and plan the next move accordingly. Other than that, I cannot think of anything else."

May mayhem rule the universe once more. A figure hiding at the Altar of Naught, clad in a black cloak and hidden from sight, floating on the air to the side of the tower but below the height of said altar. A witness to the regicide that had just taken place, an event that would trigger a change in the Organization. As per usual, the Sharpshooter’s ears had managed to catch onto the latest happenings in the Castle that Never Was. He had remained careful not to intervene in the murder of their leader, for if he sided with the ‘ traitors’ and The Superior prevailed, his position as Number Two would be compromised; and were he to had taken Xemnas’ side, he could have ended up a victim such as himself. And there was no certainty that he could come back as his former self. “The deed has been done,” he brought his hand to his chin, clad in the shadows of his hood. ”Xemnas had to disappear, the influence of the boy in him had grown stronger than before. Were it to start taking prevalence, the entire plan would be compromised,” he thought to himself, considering what would come to happen soon. ”If such influence is to revert back to him, all that would be necessary is to get the old geezer up and running again. At the very least then the man will take charge of this madness once more,” the Sharpshooter chuckled, excited over the idea. Certainly, the Master would come into contact with him once returned. “This is going to be fun.”
