You were? He nodded. "I do. It'd be foolish not to."Was she really accepting his help? It took him a second to get back on the track of the previous conversation. There was one matter that had to be settled, though. Whatever was inside of him, whatever gave him his strength. She'd have to learn about that eventually, piece by piece. How would he tell her? "Before you accept my help, there's one thing you should know. And I'll show you by example." He stood up on the railing and looked calmly at her. He didn't seem serious in the least, but faintly amused. He fell off of the railing, sat down calmly at a 90 degree angle right below it, and said, "I'm right here. Figured I should get this out of the way. A lot of people find this the most horribly inhuman thing ever." He shrugged. At least now he had control to the point where he could look normal. "It's hard to explain. I could compare what I have to the powers you have, but it might be different. Basically, there's a part of me that has these abilities, and I can use them at will. And most people find this terrible. Do you?"

Please, no more jumping off buildings. -------- When Jericho stood up on the railing, the first thought that went through Nadia's head was whether or not she was the only sane person left in the universe. Was everyone planning on killing themselves today? Maybe it was some strange effect of this world or even this specific area that whoever came up here immediately found life meaningless and subsequently threw themselves off the tower.
He's serious. But what kind of look is that? Not exactly utter despair.
He fell off in the blink of an eye. She gasped. Leaned over the rail. Almost had a heart attack.
There he was, sitting perpendicular to the wall like it was the most normal thing in the world. Even after he finished explaining, she was a little too bewildered to respond. Before he could take her silence as some form of condemnation, she managed to find some words.
"It may be a little strange, but how is being able to sit like that so terrible?" She knew the answer to that already. Humans revile that which is different. This most certainly fell into that category.
"And if I were to call you a terrible monster for being able to do that, I would also have to call myself one. Asherah is a part of me, even if she looks separate. Because of her, I can do things I don't think I would have been able to do before."

Sorry for scaring you. "Well-" Jericho grabbed the railing and jumped over it, standing back on the roof as if nothing had happened. "If you saw a figure walking around on the ceiling, would your first thought be 'oh, he seems like a nice fellow' or would you be somewhat disturbed?"He shrugged. "Not that it matters. There's a bright side to it all. If I'm reviled, it just makes it easier for me to stay an outsider. Keeps my guard up."
And it ensures that my hatred never truly dies.
"About Asherah," he said. "What abilities does she give you? I've seen only a couple."The sky was darkening quickly to night, a pale half-moon shining in the middle of the vast black expanse. Being a creature adapted to sneaking and trickery, he much preferred the night to day. Night made people paranoid and easier to get at. Besides, they never saw you coming.

I'll try my best to explain, but I honestly don't know very much, either. -------- "True." She watching him vault the railing once more. The slight tension she felt at seeing him stuck to the wall like that left her. He was right. Her first thought wouldn't be, "Well, look at that nice man on the ceiling." It was weird, yes. She recognized that. But it wasn't as horrifying a sight as he made it out to be. Her imagination could come up with much worse.
"Asherah." Nadia thought for a moment. "At this point, I've only discovered three abilities. You've seen me set things on fire, though admittedly, that isn't very powerful right now. And then there's the ability that makes me hit harder."
The one she had used to kill on Destiny Islands. Rather than sink into gloom at the memory, though, she smiled. "That one's a bit of rush."
"And the third ability allows me to use lightning. Although, again... nothing huge. I haven't had Asherah for very long. Or, I guess, I haven't been aware of her like this for very long. So, I'm not sure how or if she'll develop."
The moon was high in the sky now, a half-pendant sitting in the darkening sky. The streets weren't nearly as crowded now, and even if they were, it was becoming difficult to see.

I don't like lightning... Jericho didn't like the sound of lightning. Not that he had a phobia of lightning and thunder and all things stormy in general, but...well...okay, he did have a phobia of lightning and thunder and all things stormy. A horrible, crippling phobia. But she probably wouldn't need to use it, right? Not much, right? ...Right? "Who knows? Time will tell," he said, staring off into the distance. What was going to happen after this point? What would happen on the next world, now that Nadia had advanced so far? He didn't know. But it was sure to be interesting.
