You're taking this really seriously... -- Caroline knelt in the sand and watched him. " You're are really getting into this aren't you?" she murmured, laughing a little to herself. She had said to use his imagination, but she didn't think he'd take it this far... in fact, she wasn't even sure if he had an imagination. She was amused though, and she broke out into a cheek-dimpling grin when he returned with the crate and suggested making something bigger and better. " Okay! Let's do it! You build the walls, I'll get the shells and sticks and things." She got up and started wandering up and down the beach, looking for the perfect accessories for their modest sand castle turned sand fortress. Every so often the waves would wash over her feet and she would back away from the freezing cold water. She was still afraid of seaweed, jellyfish, sharks... giant squids. But then she looked over her shoulder, shielding her eyes from the sun, and smiled. No, there was no reason to be afraid when Ain was there. And so, she returned with an armful of stuff and dumped it on the sand next to them.

I want to go before the sand castle is washed away. The time flied forward half an hour, the sand castle was finished for no one to see but themselves. Though it was indeed bigger it was still pretty crude in nature compared to what he wanted to make out of it. The waves just reaching it's edge as if to pull away their efforts back into the sea like anything in nature. Soon the waves would wash it away but for the time being it stood tall as his waist laden with shells, pretty stones and sticks. For a while Ain stood there next to Caroline and looked at what they had made. "We finished Caroline, that was enjoyable at the very least." he stated as he glanced over to her. "This was the first time that I did something like this. Most days I was working or trying to find something to eat when I was younger." Ain looked around to see that most of the people had moved on from the beach long before they had finished. It was still daylight hours but he figured it was probably a good time to head back to the ship and head off again. He patted the sand away from his body and used his towel to clean off to some extent. "Do you want to stay longer because we really should head back to the ship." he stated as he started off. "I'm going to get changed and head back. See you on the ship." With that he headed off with a nod before hearing what Caroline had to say on the subject.

Back to my to-do list. -- Caroline watched him go and then looked down at their masterpiece. It came up to his waist, but a little higher up on her. She could have sat inside it if she wanted to. She didn't want to though, but she didn't really want to leave yet. She smiled wistfully. It had been a great afternoon, not counting the attack of the evil seagull. She'd had a lot of fun and it was nice to take her mind off things and just relax and play in the sand for a bit. All good things must come to an end. She stepped gingerly over the walls of their sand castle and across the beach to change back into her regular clothes. When she had her dress back on, she buttoned it up and flipped her blond hair over the collar before walking back outside. Their beach vacation had come to an end, but she had a feeling things weren't going to be boring at all. Not anymore, at least. While she waited for Ain, she held her satchel in front of her and thought about all the things she wanted to do. For starters, she was going to give that crazy man a hair cut.
