Through their combined efforts, they blocked the sword and even managed to strike back with a combo move. However, neither that nor Riku's spell seemed to do a substantial amount of damage. Sora saw their opponent lift his sword into the air and knew something big was coming (Though Odin's verbal warning helped him figure that out, too).

We'd better end this, he thought.

It was time to get more serious. Summoning his power, Sora rushed forward and slashed repeatedly at Odin, aiming for a series of five hits before he lunged in for a final, more powerful strike.

It was time for the finale. Sora saw this before him and attacked with a move stronger than anything he could currently muster. Riku knew that if he didn't do something, then the horseman--whose name they still did not know, as it was not Velis--would strike both of them down. Gripping Way to the Dawn firmly, the young man prepared his assault.

Charging in, he slashed once with Way to the Dawn, straight downward, then spun and put his strength behind the next attack, a horizontal slice. Throwing in two more attacks, Riku couldn't do anything the likes of which Sora could, but he could at least attack to the best of his ability.
