Luxord had been sitting on the couch in the Grey Room for what he thought was hours. His feet were propped up on a table, a cup of coffee silently steaming near them, and a book was in his hand. Arbitrarily flipping pages, he couldn't help but think to himself, "I'm...bored." The Castle had been so irritatingly quiet that he couldn't stand to remain inside it for more than a few hours before wanting to leave. The case was as such, now.
Setting his book down for a moment, he took his feet off the table and picked up the cup, sipping some of the black liquid. Straight black coffee was all that he could stand. As he set the cup down, he heard the sound of someone else coming into the room. "Ah, some company, at last."

Demyx walked slowly into the Grey Room. Today seemed a bit boring and uneventful. Though he did like the whole uneventful part, it meant he didn't have to do anything. And as long as he didn't have to do anything everything was a-okay in his book. HE hadn't seen the others around the castle today, so he figured he'd just head in here and start playing his sitar.
As he walked in he saw that there was someone in the castle today apparently. It was Luxord, the member of the Organization who had joined after he had. He was reading and drinking some coffee, probably a bit bored himself. Demyx walked over to a chair close by and put his feet up on the table, tuning his sitar. He started strumming it a bit and then spoke to Luxord. "What's going on? Trying to find something to do?"

Company! At last! Seeing Demyx walk in immediately brightened Luxord's spirits. While not that great on a mission, Demyx certainly was someone who could lighten up the mood, no matter how terribly dull it was. " Now that you've come in, I think I've found something to do." Closing the book and setting it on the table, his deck of cards flew up his sleeve and into his hand. " Care for a game while we wait for something to happen?"

Demyx wasn't all that surprised that Luxord immediately brought out his deck of cards and asked for a game. Though he pulled them out pretty fast. Demyx figured that meant Luxord was incredibly bored at the moment. Granted, Demyx would much rather play some music, he figured playing a game for a bit with Luxord wouldn't be too bad.
He took his feet off the table and put his sitar on the side of the chair, it then disappearing since he wasn't using it for now. He scooted the chair a bit closer so that he could reach the table better. "I guess so," he responded to Luxord. "What game do you have in mind?"

Difficult Decisions Luxord was taken aback for a moment: he hadn't even thought of what game yet. He laughed to himself a little and shook his head. " How about a game of 500 Rummy? It should pass the time well enough." He began shuffling the deck, well, letting the deck shuffle itself, more rather. As well as deal themselves out. And flip up the first card in the discard pile. Taking up his head, he looked at it rather plainly--nothing special about it outside of a pair of threes which were currently worthless. Of course, he wasn't even going to attempt a poker face with this game or else it would lose its entire purpose. " So, how long have you been back?"

"Sounds fine by me," Demyx responded to the game choice. He wasn't much of a card player and he wasn't even sure if he had played 500 Rummy before but oh well. Maybe he'd get lucky. He watched the cards shuffle and deal themselves out. It was always neat to see.
He picked up the cards he was dealt and it was a big fat nothing. Well, so much for luck. He then heard Luxord's question. "Oh I've been around for awhile," he told him. "I just have been avoiding doing any work lately. Been making myself scarce, which is why you haven't seen me around. Though I bet Vexen or Zexion are gonna make me go do something soon...." He sighed as he thought about it. "Man, those two need to learn to lighten up.....Anyway, I haven't seen you around either, how long you been back?"

Keeping Up-to-date Luxord laughed a little when Demyx said that he'd been avoiding coming back just so he didn't have to work--how typical of him. " Oh, I haven't been back for very long. I actually ran into Zexion and Vexen the other day--the two were arguing like they always do." One of Luxord's cards guided itself into the discard pile while another from the remaining stack went into his hand. He laid down three tens and gestured to Demyx that it was his turn. He continued talking, but with a smile on his face. " Although, you probably would've enjoyed it more than I did. It was quite something to see Zexion surrounded by women, and according to Vexen, at least, having one run out of his room in their undergarments. He certainly seems to have been playing his cards right, if I must say."

"That doesn't surprise me," Demyx says when he heard they had been arguing when Luxord had seen them last. He discarded a card and then picked one up as Luxord talked. It happened to match one in his hand for once. Though the card game seemed less interesting now that he processed what Luxord had just said.
"No way..." he said at first in disbelief. "We ARE talking about the same Zexion right?" It sounded so unlikely, yet if Vexen had been calling him out on it it must have happened. "Man, who knew Zexion had it in him..Though I don't know if I would've liked being there. I bet one of them would have turned their attention to me and take out their anger by making me do some crazy assignment," He sighed. "That's just the way it works around here..."

I Wonder... Luxord drew another card and set it in the discard pile--he had a feeling that a bad luck streak was coming. Lady Luck always made sure that he felt it. " I was quite surprised myself. Even more surprising was that Zexion lied to Vexen about his intentions for the girl." He stared intently at the stack of cards as he was saying. Maybe a little...no, if fate decrees his loss, then he loses. " It seems a lot has changed in a short while for our other members. And yet, it all feels strangely...nostalgic."

Demyx was glad to hear that he wasn't the only one surprised by Zexion's behavior. Though apparently there was more. "Zexion lied to Vexen about what he was up too?" he repeated as he picked up a card and then put it into the discard pile as well. "Now that makes me wonder what exactly is going on in that head of his....." he said trying to think what Zexion could possibly be up too.
He nodded when Luxord said that a lot had changed for their members in such a short time. Though he didn't get why he was saying it felt nostalgic. "Why does all this make you feel nostalgic?" he asked him, hoping to get a better explanation.

Just Like Old Times Picking up another card, he smiled and laid down four sixes, leaving only three cards to remove: it was a shame they were all different values and suits. " I'm not sure how well you remember, but you know when everything began to fall apart after Roxas left. The sensation is like that, but just in reverse." Putting his hand to his chin, he gave Demyx a weird look. Sticking a finger out, he sent a card from the stack into Demyx's hand, and then moved his finger down--all of the cards Demyx had been holding laid themselves in neat sets on the table. What amazed Luxord was that Demyx had been holding a straight of ten-ace, a straight of five-eight, and had just got his third jack. Essentially, Demyx had completely trumped Luxord. Dumbfounded, he could only say two words before chuckling a little. " Beginner's Luck."

Demyx thought about this for a moment. "Hmm....now that you mention it, I guess it sort of is..." he said after a bit. Hopefully this didn't mean that things were going to start falling apart now. After all the Organization had just started picking up the pieces again, it seemed too soon for everything to start falling apart now.
While he was thinking, Luxord basically took his turn for him as he drew a card for him and then laid all his cards on the table. Luxord then said "Beginner's Luck" so Demyx guessed he had just had a really good hand. "I guess so...." he said looking at the cards. "So, you think, like, we should do something then? Or are we just gonna watch and see what happens?"

As the cards reshuffled and dealt themselves out to each of them, Luxord pondered what Demyx said. He hadn't thought that far ahead, actually. What should they be doing? "Beginner's luck... As much of a fool as you make yourself out to be, you certainly seem to think the right way." He knew that either action or inaction was a gamble. It didn't matter which one he took--both could lead to the same outcome. "We do nothing for now. We don't know how things will play out, and we don't know how they bluff. The wisest option is to wait and see how all the members play their hands." He added more lightheartedly, "And, Demyx, the scoring is based on sets. Three or more of the same card, two or more of the same suit in order, and you can complete your opponent's set. Points are based on the card's numerical value, with face cards and the ace being ten. And cards left in your hand subtract points." Picking up his cards, he motioned for Demyx to take the lead in the next round.

Demyx watched the cards shuffle themselves again while he waited for a response from Luxord. It seemed like Luxord hadn't thought about what should be done, if anything. Though after a while he finally spoke and said they wouldn't do anything for now, opting to wait and see how it all plays out. "That's fine by me," he told Luxord. "What's that one saying? Sometimes inaction is the best action. Something like that..."
He picked up his cards and Luxord motioned for him to go first. He also explained a bit more on how to play. "Oh yeah.....Sorry man, you ask to play so many games its hard to keep track of all the rules...." he said as he picked up a card and discarded it. Hopefully he would get more of that beginner's luck for the rest of the game.
