Air.
For the first time in who knew how long, Xaldin could feel air coursing through his lungs. The beautiful element that he commanded flowed through him, giving him life, bringing sensation back to his body. For moments all he could do was breathe, which was so much more than he had done in what felt like eternity. The Whirlwind Lancer moved his fingers, curling them, making them work for him. It took effort at first, his muscles had not been forced to respond in so long that he had almost forgotten how to make them work, but in the end they followed his will. In one of his hands Xaldin felt a rock, wrapping his hand around it, gripping the object. Normally Xaldin would not pay any mind to something so meaningless, but the sensation of touching was almost addictive to the Nobody who had been floating around in nothingness for so long.
Xaldin's deep blue eyes snapped opened, a sneer that was his first expression since his second death crossing his face. The Whirlwind Lancer's hand tightened over the rock in his grip as he laid eyes upon the area around him. His expression turned from sour to enraged at the sight of his death place, the very bridge that he had fought Sora and faced defeat by the child's hands. A brat had killed him, someone who was weak, someone who couldn't even rely on their own strength to face their challenges. Sora was nothing more than pathetic, a worm who reveled in its own incompetence. Xaldin should have been strong enough to defeat him, but the weakling held such a powerful tool, without it he would be nothing. Xaldin rose to his feet, holding the rock up before him.
"All of this because of that boy... That woman"
The rock that had been in Xaldin's hand a moment ago was no more, obliterated by a sphere of wind that the Nobody created. The remnants of the object blew away in the wind, removing the evidence of Xaldin' inflicted destruction. He couldn't hate, but Xaldin could certainly think back to a time that he had. This was worse than those times, he had been defeated by a boy, had been foiled by a woman, had been claimed by the nothingness that his being consisted of. Xaldin dropped the emotional outburst, bring his face back to a neutral calm. This world held nothing for him, after those long months of planning, manipulating, turning Beast into a being that could only hate and doubt, that had all been dashed.
However, the circumstances of his demise were a very close secondary to one thing; the fate of the Organization. Half of its numbers had already faltered, some to Sora, some even fell to other members of the Organization, though the circumstances at Castle Oblivion had called for exceptional measures to deal with the traitors. The thought of those Nobodies brought something else to Xaldin's mind; if he had returned then what was to stop them? As above the others he believed himself to be he still held no means of returning from death a second time, nothing that would cause him to come back while others did not. Soon the Organization would have to deal with Nobodies that had betrayed them once already, and also Nobodies that possibly held doubt at the order of things. It would be a troubled time for them all, and Xaldin could not waste it in some meaningless castle.
Somehow it reassured Xaldin to find that the darkness still followed his commands, opening a dark portal so that he might learn the fate of his fellow Nobodies.
