[One year after the events of Kingdom Hearts II]
The days of darkness are over.
Those words were pleasing to hear across the worlds. The Heartless were diminishing into the background thanks to the legendary keyblade master and light was gaining a strong presence once more. Peace reigned supreme and not a single soul objected it.
Well, souls with hearts perhaps.
Organization XIII, after being destroyed by the forces of light, have been resurrected through mysterious ways. From their high thrones in the World that Never Was, they are able to observe what is truly happening to the worlds today. They know that the current peace is not for the better and belies a harsher reality.
Light is no longer the beautiful entity all love to ideal; too much of anything makes it no longer good. The Organization watches as the keyblades are choosing more masters than ever and tipping the scale of balance toward the light. There was once a time when darkness and light coexisted peacefully and the balance was what let the world survive.
Do not believe the words of your King Mickey or Ansem the Wise; they're wrong. Light may have once been well and good, but those days are no more. The darkness is marshaling its forces to attempt to quell the uprising of the light and the light is gathering forces to attempt eradication of the dark while the Organization watches on, faced with a choice. They could maintain their neutrality, or take a more active role in preserving the balance.
Old alliances fade, previous misconceptions come tumbling down; who knows what will happen next? |
