Free At Last
With a final surge of attacks, the giant Heartless was defeated. Lanying watched the large heart drift up out of its body, finding the sight both beautiful and terrible at once. She did not have time for philosophical contemplation for long, though. Where the Heartless had rested, a large hole gaped wide, leading back down into the whale's mouth area. Raen was all-too-eager to jump down but not before shouting a message for Zexion at Demyx. He was close to deciding...what? Questions would have to wait until later.
She nodded and then gave a small, polite bow to Demyx, wordlessly thanking him for his assistance. Then, she quickly followed Raen down the hole. Loud noises alerted her to the possibility of the whale sneezing in the very near future. She and Raen needed to be on the ship before then. She briefly wondered how Demyx was going to get out, but since Raen seemed to think he would be able to see this Zexion soon, she supposed he must have his own way out.
She landed near Raen in the giant patch of whale spit, but at this point, she was already thoroughly disgusting. So, she barely gave a thought to the extra saliva soaking through her clothes. Following him as best she could, Lanying entered the gummi ship right behind Raen and collapsed into the seat next to him. The engines were already ready to go when the whale's teeth parted to reveal stars. Within seconds, they were outside the giant monster and back in open space.
Lanying picked at the sticky mess of her clothes. "...I don't suppose there is any way I could bathe somewhere on this ship?" Not that she had any clean clothes to change into afterward. She desperately needed some. It might take several baths before she felt completely clean again.
