To the Lancer, there would always be the wind. The other members of the Organization could betray him and the goal they agreed upon, but he would not. And so long as he was the master of the winds, the wind would not either.
"Those traitors," Xaldin began, "had best remain in whatever crevice they managed to hide within after their defeat."
It was easily a well known fact that Xaldin had the least amount of tolerance for traitors. Well... save for Xemnas perhaps. He remembered his last talk with the Superior. When it concluded it appeared all was well within the Organization, and that their plans were on schedule, even though they lacked a good number of members. Xaldin's latest report was that he'd managed to get the Beast very angry at those within his home. So angry in fact, he attacked them on sight. And with a Nobody of that power, it was, in this Nobody's mind, a much harder game for the warriors of light to win.
And then the traitor Roxas had to interfere. While it was true he was in fact co-existing within the body of his whole self, he was for all extensive purposes, the same person, and researching the whole Keyblade wielder had proven just how much the two parts were alike. And that was Xaldin's biggest complaint when it came time to bring in Thirteen.
"He betrayed us, as I said he would." This was something he voiced only to Xemnas when he knew they were alone. If the winds even slightly hinted of a certain elf eavesdropping, then he was sure to avoid the subject at great cost to what some might call Xaldin's sanity. In fact some might say that if it wasn't for the fact that Xemnas had explicitly said that Xaldin was to not confront Xigbar, he would have.
And boy were those people right. It was at this moment that a figure appeared via corridor of darkness. When it removed the hood covering its face it was revealed to be none other than the traitor Axel. Xaldin's lances suddenly appeared, the bladed tips pointed at his head, and Xaldin let loose a growling threat.
"If you don't have a good reason for being here, I'll end your miserable existence. Traitor." Axel explained himself, and immediately left before Xaldin's lances could do anything to the younger Nobody. But the news that traitor gave him was well worth letting him live for a short time longer. Not only that, but he doubted he could have defeated Axel so easily in his current state.
The news Axel had brought was that these two weren't the only ones that lived. The Organization was reforming. Xaldin smirked slightly. He would return to the Organization and make sure his first mission was to eliminate any living traitors. After all they couldn't afford to have anyone meddle with their plans this time around. His lust for battle was without a doubt about to be appeased. At least for the moment. For these traitors were powerful allies, and even more powerful foes. They would pose something of a challenge for Xaldin, and could even potentially be a danger, especially when dealing with Axel. His blasted fire attacks thrived on the wind, and unless Xaldin's winds were are ferocious as the hurricanes he used to conjure, he would be unable to snuff out that one's flames. The Lancer stood, and opened a corridor of darkness.
"Oh how I hate traitors." And as he stepped in he realized something.
His "hatred" would only make his winds stronger when he came across a traitor. As the corridor closed behind him a slight smirk formed upon his face. He would have his vengeance.
