Let’s get the basics down first.
Name: Soren Gray Nicknames: Firebrand Age: 16 Gender: Male Race: Half human, half Aysurian. Aysurians were very religious, intelligent creatures who isolated themselves from other worlds. They appeared birdlike, with light bones, tall, thin bodies, beaklike noses, and large, brightly colored wings. Feathers grew on their shoulders and legs. Homeworld: Traverse Town, but was originally from a destroyed planet called Aysur Alliance: Light

So tell me a little bit about yourself.
Physical Aspects: Soren is very tall for his age, 6'1". He has silver eyes, messy red hair, and a large tattoo of a green phoenix (the symbol of the Aysurians) on his arm. He keeps the red feathers growing on his shoulders hidden under his clothes. He wears a sleeveless leather jacket, a white T-shirt with ripped-up sleeves, and a pair of light blue jeans.
Most notable are the white wings protruding from his back.

Persona: - Façade: Soren appears to be quite childish and impulsive, if not good-hearted. He's always passionate about his cause, and will fight to the death for it. He is steadfast and a trustworthy friend, placing the lives of his friends in front of his own.
He is also quite honest, the reason for this being that he is a terrible liar.
He takes pride in his Aysurian heritage, and doesn't bother trying to hide his wings. If confronted with disgust or scorn due to his unusual appearance, he just shrugs it off.
- Inner Mind: Inside, Soren is a little more mature than his appearance. He is motivated by a need to do good, and will always put others before himself. However, he sometimes loses sight of the greater good, only doing what will help those around him. His goal in life is to eliminate the Heartless so that no one will have to go through what he did when his world was destroyed.
He sometimes feels like a freak- Aysurian in appearance, but with the mental makeup of a human, he feels as though he'll never really be either and feels ashamed that the last Aysurian in existence is a hybrid like him.
When he fights Heartless, he becomes dangerously focused and almost vicious in his ferocity. He fears that his fierce hatred of the Heartless will lead to darkness growing within him, and has tried to combat it with little success.

Stand up and fight.
Weapon(s): The spear of Sai'tal, a special brand of spear created by the Aysurians to increase their airborne advantage. The heandle appears to be made out of light wood, but is really a material that is hard as stone but can extend and retract at will. It can retract to 2 feet in length and extend to 11.
The one that Soren has is the ceremonial spear of the High Priests. It was the only thing he was able to salvage from his world.
ABILITIES SECTION:
Flight Due to his Aysurian heritage, Soren can utilize his wings to transport himself from place to place. Since he has a bulkier, heavier frame than regular Aysurians, he can not fly as fast or as long as they could, but it's still a very useful skill to have.
Range: In ideal conditions (fully rested, good wind, nice weather) he can manage up to 10 miles. Any change to these conditions will lessen his ability by up to 5 miles. He can not ascend more than a quarter-mile into the air. Speed: Depends on whether or not he's diving or ascending, but never goes above 50 mph. Cooldown: Passive Uses: Passive Strength: Moderate
Determination Soren becomes furious and gains a burst of energy, increasing his speed for a short time.
Range: N/A Speed: Increases speed while flying to 60 mph, running speed increases slightly as well. Cooldown: 4 posts Uses: 3 uses Strength: Weak
[Ability Three Name] [Ability Three Description]
Range: How far does it go? What are the ranged limitations? How large is any explosion? Etc. Speed: How fast is it? How fast does it make you go? Etc. Cooldown: How many posts before you can use it again? Uses: How many times can it be used? If passive, then put passive here. Strength: Weak, Moderate, or Strong in strength?
Everybody’s got a weakness or two; what are yours?
Elemental Weakness: Ice Other Weaknesses: Injuring his wings will cause him to drop his guard in anger- the Aysurians believed that destroying the wings would trap their heart and consciousness inside the body forever, even past death. Attacking the wings, consequently, is the worst insult one could give to an Aysurian.
What’s your story?
Soren is a hybrid, a child born of an Aysurian fighter and a human merchant. The Aysurians had a society built around a very strong religion in which those without wings were considered unable to ascend after death, and consequently isolated themselves from other worlds, allowing only the occasional merchant to pass through. Because of this, the child and the Aysurian mother were both considered impure, the human father cast out and prevented from ever returning, and the mother would have to give birth in exile, with no assistance whatsoever. If she survived, then it was the wish of their gods that she and her child should live.
Miraculously, she survived, and her child had all the features of a pure-blooded Aysurian, albeit his face, which resembled that of a human. They were reluctantly allowed back into society, although treated with a modicum of contempt by everyone.
The boy didn't care. He grew up young and strong, with pure white wings and a slightly more muscular frame than most Aysurians. He wasn't as smart as the others his age- his mental makeup was that of a human's- but he took a keen interest in the religion of Aysur, so much so that many believed that, despite his tragic mental impurities, he was born into this world to absolve his mother's crimes. Because of this, he was treated less with contempt and more with the sort of affection one would a very young, naive child. Meanwhile, his mother remained distant from society, secretly keeping in contact with her human lover through another merchant friendly to Aysur.
One day, though, everything changed. The earth began to shake. Horrible, shadowy creatures rose from the earth and attacked. The Aysurian fighters did everything they could, but were eventually slain. Soren went to one of the shrines as everything fell apart around him and prayed to the gods for his world to be saved, and took the spear at the altar into his own hands to fight off the monsters with his mother.
But he had little skill and no training. His attacks were useless, and he was quickly knocked unconscious.
When he woke up, he was on the ship of the merchant who knew his father. The merchant said that his mother, gravely injured, had brought Soren to the merchant and begged him to take him to his father. When Soren asked what had happened to his planet, the merchant pointed sadly out the window. Soren looked out just in time to see his world lost to the darkness.
He was sent to Traverse Town to live with his father under the name Soren Gray (his traditional Aysurian name was too strange and long for common use, not to mention unpronouncable). Soren spent the first few months in a deep depression, grieving, until he realized that he wasn't the only one who had lost their world, and if he sat there moping then he wouldn't be able to keep others from suffering the same fate.
It was then that Soren became determined to become a strong fighter and keep worlds from being lost to the darkness.
His Aysurian name translates roughly into "one born of fire". This combined with his headstrong, impulsive nature has earned him the nickname Firebrand.
It all comes down to this: make your choice.
You are presented with three weapons: a sword, a staff, and a shield. The sword represents the power of the warrior; invincible courage comes with this weapon as well as horrible destruction. The staff represents the power of the mystic; inner strength comes with this weapon as well as wonder and ruin. The shield represents the power of the guardian; kindness to aid friends comes with this weapon as well as a shield that will repel all.
Which one will you choose?
Chosen Weapon: Shield
