Other:
- Theme Song: Bodies- Drowning Pool
- Battle Music: I Never Woke Up in Handcuffs Before from the Sherlock Holmes Soundtrack, composed by Hans Zimmer
- Voice: Kari Wahlgren as Haruko Haruhara
- Scent: She smells just like cherry flavored Kool-Aid
- Likes: Nighttime, the color red, fire
- Dislikes: People, sunlight, sleeping
- Buttons: Buttons is one of the loudest voices in her head. A hallucination, not a soul. Buttons usually takes the form of a whisper in her ear, telling her what to do... when she does see Buttons, he is a white cat that circles around her feet.
So tell me a little bit about yourself.
Physical Aspects: Loru looks as crazy as she is. At some point she was beautiful, with long blond hair and pretty green eyes. As years went by, she deteriorated in more ways than one. In a vain effort to hide her identity, she cut her hair short and dyed it red. Not a nice natural red but a bright, fire engine red, and left the two pieces of hair framing her face blond. Her hair length varies, to her shoulders in places and so short it sticks up in others. She has wide, bright green eyes that seem to never blink. Crazy eyes. She's average height but dangerously thin and bony, with elbows that could put an eye out. She has pale skin, having rarely seen the light of day since she was a teenager, and her face is dotted with freckles.
Her clothes don't fit. She wears a bright red dress that drags across the floor, the hem of which is dirty and torn. The dress has a wide black sash, no sleeves, and a square collar. Over the dress, she wears a long brown men's trench coat. The sleeves cover her spidery fingers and almost reaches the floor. She walks around barefoot because she doesn't like shoes, so her feet are dirty and calloused. Around her neck is a long black scarf.
She wears very heavy, dark eye make-up, bright red lipstick and her finger nails are long and painted bright red to match her dress. Here is a picture of her.
Persona:
- Façade: Before anything else, it needs to be mentioned that Loru is schizophrenic. There are many different kinds of schizophrenia, and Loru has two. She is has both paranoid and disorganized schizophrenia, both of which have been resistant to all medication and have only shown marginal improvement after many sessions of electroconvulsive therapy.
Because of her psychological state, Loru acts completely insane. She is incredibly paranoid and suspects everyone. She hears voices and occasionally sees things and people that aren't there, things she thinks everyone else can see too. As you will read in the next section, some of those voices and people aren't just hallucinations, however. She very rarely reacts in an appropriate manner, meeting even the most grim circumstances with a sincere laugh and genuine smile. Or she may just randomly burst into tears for no apparent reason. There are also times where she seems to have no emotional response at all, and these are the times when she is most dangerous.
The thing that stands out the most is her speech patterns. She may repeat what was just said to her over and over again, she may stop abruptly in the middle of a sentence or she may go completely off topic out of nowhere. She is extremely illogical as well, does whatever she feels like doing at that moment and seems to have no motives at all. She refuses to make eye contact with anyone, sure that they will suck her soul out, and as a result her eyes are constantly moving. Her whole body is constantly moving. Never ending fidgeting, hands shaking, shaking her head. Constantly.- Inner Mind: Loru's mind is truly a horrifying place, a constant stream of random gibberish intermingled with disturbing visions of acts of extreme violence and torture. She is constantly hearing voices besides her own, and some of them aren't hallucinations. Since childhood, she has been able to communicate with the dead... and not all ghosts are friendly. Many of the violent requests come from tortured souls who want revenge. The fact that she developed schizophrenia may be just a coincidence, or it may be because of her 'curse'.

Stand up and fight.
Weapon(s): Tonfa
Plain wooden tonfas. Can be used to attack or defend. She tucks them into her sash when she's not using them. Without any formal training, she is still a deadly opponent due to the souls of tortured warriors telling her how to fight in order to get their revenge.
ABILITIES SECTION:
[Blood of the Valkyrie]
No one knows why, but somehow Loru's frail frame is capable of immense strength. She has been known to destroy steel security doors with a single blow, demolish concrete with her bare feet and break bones like toothpicks. She doesn't always use this strength (meaning she won't just spontaneously break a chair if she sits in it) and can only do so when not being treated for schizophrenia. This strength obviously boosts her attack power. The drawback is that she has decreased defense.

Ever since she can remember, Loru has never been normal. She was born and raised in Traverse Town. Her parents tell it that even as an infant, her eyes would track imaginary things across the ceiling. Her earliest memories consist of whispers in her ear telling her to hurt her brother, parents and herself. It was when she began to act out on these violent desires that her family decided she needed help.
At age eleven, after going after her older brother with a kitchen knife, she was put on a variety of anti-psychotic medications and diagnosed as schizophrenic. No medication helped, and her parents were wary to have their then fourteen year old daughter start clozapine, a last resort medication with potentially deadly side effects.
Throughout her childhood, she tried to tell her parents- or anyone who would listen- about her ability to communicate with the dead. She first realized some of the voices in her head and hallucinations were actually tortured souls when she was eleven years old and her cousin killed himself and appeared to her days later- telling her to kill her brother.
After the failure of all medication and therapy, her family became frustrated. Fearing their safety, they essentially counted her as a lost cause and admitted her permanently into a mental institution. She only grew worse, and after even clozapine failed to control her psychosis, her doctors were forced to try one last treatment: electroconvulsive therapy, or electroshock therapy.
That only served to make her mad.
The final remedy ended up erasing most of her memories, but seemed to calm the storm for a little while. She was still convinced that the doctors were evil and trying to make her into some kind of super weapon to destroy the world, but she would actually function to some point.
But shortly after her twenty-first birthday, she snapped. No one expected the frail-looking Loru to be so strong. She rampaged through the institution, killing all of her doctors and the other patients. They all seemed to have died from broken necks, internal bleeding and severe head injuries; she didn't even use a weapon, just her bare hands.
After, she took a pair of scissors and hacked off most of her already short blond hair. She also took a lighter and burned a shaky line down her arm. She didn't feel the burn at all, having long since lost the ability to feel any kind of pleasure, physical or otherwise. Pain had become her pleasure, and she lost that too.
Blood splattered and burned, she set the institution on fire and escaped safely through a broken window. She somehow managed to stow-away on a merchant ship headed for Destiny Islands. When she reached the islands, she stole clothes off someone's clothesline, and shoplifted red hair dye and a pair of wooden tonfa.
She has become something of a legend on the smaller island where she makes her home. She only comes out at night, steals food and basically just does crazy stuff like stare into lights and talk to the voices in her head. During the day she hides in a crate in some godforsaken back alley.
She rarely sleeps. It all comes down to this: make your choice.
You are presented with three weapons: a sword, a staff, and a shield. The sword represents the power of the warrior; invincible courage comes with this weapon as well as horrible destruction. The staff represents the power of the mystic; inner strength comes with this weapon as well as wonder and ruin. The shield represents the power of the guardian; kindness to aid friends comes with this weapon as well as a shield that will repel all.
Which one will you choose?
Chosen Weapon: Loru takes the Shield and tries to hide it in her dress.
Guard
Placing your weapon or shield in a defensive position, you block the efforts of a Weak ability and nullify it. This symbolizes the defensive properties of the Shield, and is broken by Guard Break.
