Physical Aspects: Zeke is a bit small, standing in at around 5’3”, weighing approximately 125 lbs. Naturally, he has dark green eyes, however, due to the tainting of darkness, his eyes have become significantly darker, almost black. Despite his size, he has a rather fit albeit thin body. His black hair is fairly short, and not styled in much of a distinguishing way. While his hair was always black, Zeke can swear the taint turned it even a darker shade, if that was even possible. As well, he's gained some noticeable bags under his eyes. When he gets visibly emotional (Which is not a whole lot nowadays) Zeke 'leaks' darkness, meaning, the darkness that has stored within him after his lengthy stay in the void leaves from his body and drifts away. This is actually a constant thing, but it is only visible during those bursts of emotion, or in battle. The darkness has no harmful or noticeable effects on anyone around him.
He wears black, baggy pants and brown leather boots. For his torso he wears a heavy long-sleeved white shirt and a black, usually undone vest over it. On his fingers are various rings. Like other inhabitants of his world, he wears two rings representing his family and one to represent the Shield of Eindhoven. The first family ring is a depiction of a fox, and the second, of a lamp. If observed by a person from his world, they would recognize his family as an illuminating one, one to run to when your way is lost, and as a mischievous one, one to avoid during festive times. Of course, these aren't literal example of him or his family, simply symbols that have been used for ages on his world.
Persona:
- Façade: The taint of the void, as Zeke describes it, has affected his outward appearance. Emotion rarely shows on his face, or within his body language, anger being the only exception to this. The darkness clouds his thoughts, and he doesn't always come off the way he wants to, he finds it hard to be friendly with someone with his body in such a state. Due to this, Zeke could be quickly perceived as cold and uncaring. When in the midst of battle, however, this is far different. His cold shell is shed and his instincts become on display for all to see.
- Inner Mind: Under the mask of his taint, Zeke constantly questions himself. Inwardly, he's a flurry of emotions and hesitation. He feels immense guilt for letting his world down long ago. After his time in the void, he has become exactly what his neighbors had branded him, a follower--no, a monster--of darkness. For that, he feels he can never return to his world until he rids himself of the taint. After his time in the void, and through the darkness clouding his thoughts, Zeke has little hope in ridding himself of the taint.

[Shield of... Darkness?] (Yes, that is the name, ellipses and question mark included)
A variation of an ability Zeke once had as a warrior of light, the Shield of Light. Ultimately, the shield could not hold back darkness and it was cracked, tainting it and turning it into the ability it is today.
Zeke outstretches his hand, using his leaked darkness to form a shield of that can protect his entire side from attacks.

Throughout his entire life, Zeke would constantly question the world around him. Not so much a curious boy, but one who felt the need to fully understand the things surrounding him. Despite this hunger, Zeke couldn't fathom a great many things. For most of the time he was given an answer, his response to said answer was simply: "But why?"
It just was. Zeke couldn't really understand that.
At the time of his life when the question, "why me?" was the most appropriate for Zeke, nothing he could gather from could give him the answer.
He wasn't special. Not in his world, Eindhoven, a world still new to the prospect of space travel. The capital had been a shining beacon to the people, and its military a shield for all. It was dubbed the Shield of Eindhoven for a reason. The technology that existed on the world was crude, however, and only recent visitors from more advanced worlds was making that a difference.
While Zeke himself could not be considered special, his father could definitely be considered as such, soon on his way to general status of the prestigious military. His mother was also a bit special, being a terribly selfless individual. She had many friends who respected and loved her. To Zeke, his parents were terribly special, they had qualities and skills most did not, especially not their youngest son. Compared to Adam, his brother who was almost two years older, Zeke was slower, weaker, and just not as smart. His brother excelled, his family excelled, but Zeke didn't. That's not to say Zeke was dumb or too unskilled. He was simply average. The this is, he wasn't the least bit envious. His only desire was to be content, and for his friends to be content.
This all changed and Zeke soon was asking, "Why me?"
There was a beautiful girl with what Zeke would describe as golden hair and glistening eyes. Her name was Tanya, and while she was only friends with Zeke, he had developed a large crush for her. Zeke contemplated the day he would tell her. He imagined it would be wonderful, like a dream.
He never got the chance to.
Every year someone was picked at random to be "marked". The marked was to serve the Priests of the Shield for a year, until the next marked was chosen. At that time, the old marked would be sacrificed. A morbid ritual, and anyone from most other worlds would describe it as such. For this world, the ritual was rooted deep in its history. It was a myth, a legend, a practice. The inhabitants would not stop it anytime soon. Any who attempted to do so was severely punished and branded a Follower of Darkness.
When Tanya was the chosen as the year's "marked" Zeke couldn't stand by. He would never see her again once she left with the priests, and she then would eventually die. Even if Zeke had not had a crush on the girl, it was likely he would have tried to stop any of his friends becoming "marked". Zeke had been like that, he wanted his friends to be safe.
The attempt to run away with Tanya was quickly foiled, and despite his father's attempted intervention, Zeke was branded as a Follower of Darkness. His punishment would have been worse, much worse, if it were not for the arrival of the great darkness. The world was familiar with Heartless, surely, there was a reason why the Shield existed. The darkness that seeped into the world was far worse than anything anyone had ever seen. Of course, needing something to blame, the blame naturally went to Zeke, the young boy just recently branded a Follower of Darkness.
For some reason, a reason not even Zeke can see, he was protected. The punishment on Zeke was ineffective, the darkness did not touch him, no one could touch him. He had been chosen. For whatever reason, the light had chosen the boy with no real skills or values to be their warrior. They came to him in a dream, bestowed him with powers to fight the darkness...
... There had to have been some sort of mistake. Despite Zeke's new abilities as this warrior of light, his entire world thought of him as a monster of darkness. How could he be expected to save his world when even his world was against him? Why him?
No explanation was given.
It should come as no surprise that Zeke lost. His family, the only ones who still believed in him were devoured quickly by the darkness. His world was soon to follow. Zeke did fight, fight his hardest even. He would have done so even if not being the chosen one. The darkness was just too much for him, however.
It was perplexing, even with the world a shattered, dark remnant of itself, lost in a void... Zeke still remained. The light had left his body, yes, but the darkness had not taken him away like it had everyone else. He was alone in the dark void.
Despite being in this void for a short time, to Zeke it felt longer. His mind wandered, drifted in and out of itself. The darkness soon seeped into his body, his head, his fingers, his toes, his bones...
Once it was over, Zeke couldn't tell if he was dreaming or not.
His world became restored, Zeke had no idea why, or if he had done something. His time in the void was entirely hazy. Despite the restoration of his world, Zeke didn't go with it. As he watched the small fragments of his world disappear from the void and become whole again, he waited for his moment where he would be whisked away and drained of this darkness.
That moment never came.
Instead, Zeke became lost yet again, still in the void. An entire year passed by, but for Zeke, it was like a blur, passing in and out of a lucid dream. His body eventually was eventually carried away by the tide, ejected from the void, and sent across the universe. When Zeke awoke, he was groggy and tired. It became obvious to him his body had become very tainted, his thoughts constantly shouted at him, telling him to do things he didn't understand. Zeke began to explore the the world he had found himself on, Radiant Garden. It all comes down to this: make your choice.
