Let’s get the basics down first.
Name: Raegan Julius Sarmon Nicknames: Raen (Pronounced: “RAIN”) Age: 20 Gender: Male Race: Human Homeworld: Traverse Town Alliance: Shadow Darkness
You’re just a puppet aren’t you? Played By: Nothingness Age: 18 Gender: Male Contact: PM Audition Link: N/A Other:
So tell me a little bit about yourself.
Physical Aspects: He’s approximately 5’11”, and weighs in at around 150 lb. Light brown hair with dark streaks punctuated throughout falls to his shoulders, with the bangs carefully tucked behind his somewhat small ears. His body is thin and lean, quite bony around the joints, with a lightly tanned complexion, and his face is quite angular around the chin and jaw. His eyes are the color of the night sky at dawn: a deep blue with golden and white flecks, peer out from his somber eyes. Beneath his thin nose is a mouth that is usually in a state of complacence—never frowning, yet not quite smiling either. He wears white tennis shoes with three black contoured streaks on their sides, blue jeans that are faded around the knees, a black leather belt with a loop for his rapier, and a white T-shirt that is mostly covered by an unzipped, grey hooded-jacket that is quite worn out around the bottom and sleeves. The jacket itself would be fairly uninteresting if not for a brown patch on the right shoulder, trimmed with green, and with a three-pointed, golden star stitched into the center.
After his escapades within Monstro, Raen's original outfit was thoroughly trashed. He now wears white tennis shoes with black laces, and the outer sides of each shoe are emblazoned with a graffiti-inspired design of the silhouetted upper-half of a rushing wolf. His jeans are a fairly light shade of blue, faded to white around the knees, and have a faded white stripe running down the outside seams. He wears a white dress shirt with vertical stitching all along the front, and has the top two buttons undone (not including the collar), as well as all the buttons on the cuffs and sleeves undone. It is untucked for the most part, except for a small section on the left side so it won't get caught when he draws and puts away his rapier. He wears a black leather belt, loosened slightly at that point. Also needing to change jackets, he replaced his old one with a black light-jacket that has a hood, as well as two inside pockets. He wears it unzipped, and it does a good job of covering the white from his dress shirt. He restitched the three-pointed star patch onto the right shoulder of the jacket.

Persona: - Façade: He’s very calm in even the most dire of situations. He rarely lets his emotions get to him, and makes cold, calculated decisions remorselessly. Usually planning for anything three steps ahead, he tends to makes some mistakes, although he works around those quite easily in that case. Always having his priorities straight, he rarely goes against his better judgment in making a difficult choice. When he’s in the company of others, he becomes much more sociable and relaxed, if not seeming slightly aloof. When in battle, he wants nothing more to end the fight as quickly as possible with as little injury to himself or his allies. That attitude makes him come off as ruthless or cold, though he simply considers it to be something more akin to mercy towards the opponent.
- Inner Mind: His mind is a like a swarm of bees with stray thoughts irritating him to no end. He simply keeps his calm demeanor so as to give himself more confidence in his decisions. Always stuck in the past, he can’t seem to easily move on no matter what he does. After making difficult decisions he always wonders what would’ve happened if he made a different choice. Despite his cold attitude, especially in combat, he puts his allies above himself. Whether or not it seems like that can be hard to discern. In all honesty he'd prefer to fight by himself just so he wouldn't have to worry about those around him.

Weapon(s): Raen’s weapon of choice is a handcrafted, blue-gripped rapier named Fimbulvetr that never leaves his side. The blade is slightly over a yard in length, and the hilt has an intricate, flowing pattern of flat steel strands that wrap around each other, providing protection for the front half of the grip. The pommel is a small, tear-dropped shaped ice crystal that glows with a frosty blue light whenever he uses an ability. This rapier itself is what allows Raen to use his abilities as the Ice Crystal grants him some control over the element. When he doesn't have his weapon, all abilities (barring Winter's Grasp) are weakened by one strength level.
He fights just the way he thinks: precisely and deadly. When he goes in for an attack it’s meant to deal as much damage to the opponent as possible. He’ll oftentimes study his opponent’s style and try to find their weaknesses before actually going in for a serious attack. When locked in combat, he fights defensively and with a strange sort of grace. Not grace like dancing, but with very smooth and fluid motions, each movement leading cleanly into the next. However, when pressured enough he’ll take the offensive, or just when he feels the target to not be worth his time.
ABILITIES SECTION:
Ice Beast Channeling both ice and darkness into Fimbulvetr, Raen violently swings his blade around, sending up to eight blades of ice across land and/or in the air. Each blade is six feet in length, blades that are on the ground leave behind an ice trail seven inches wide, and blades in the air move in an arc before homing in on the target. When a ground blade contacts anything, it will freeze the base of the target to the ground. When an aerial blade contacts anything, it will wrap around the target and weigh it down. For the coup de grâce, Raen slams his hand into the ground, forming a dark portal. A similar portal appears beneath the target. Within about three seconds, a pair of yellow eyes glow from the portal before the head of a wolf bursts out of the portal, jaws wide-open, then bites down on the target. As soon as it bites it explodes in a flurry of ice. Raen can choose to, or not to, use the final part of the attack.
Range: Fifty Feet Speed: Swing speed, blades move at 50mph Cooldown: Three Posts Uses: Four times per thread Strength: Strong
Winter's Lament Raising his hand, Raen releases a blast of sub-zero air powerful enough to floor anyone unfortunate enough to be caught within its area of effect. Utilizing his new-found control over the darkness, Raen can now use this from a distance, causing the target to feel a very severe chill before the blast occurs. Forsaking the shards of ice, this newest incarnation instead creates a ring of black fire around the blast radius. The flames drain any warmth out of the air near them, and parts of anything that touches them directly will be frozen instantly for one post.
Range: Fifteen foot radius around Raen. The blast is ten feet wide, ten feet high. The ring of black fire is ten feet wide, and two feet high. Speed: The blast happens one second after the cold is felt. The flames last for two posts after the ability is used. Cooldown: Three posts Uses: Three times per thread Strength: Strong
Frost's Damnation Instantly bringing the temperatures around him to sub-zero levels, Raen heightens his defenses enough to negate up to Moderate level attacks, and reduce the damage of higher-level attacks. While this is active, a thick fog obscures Raen, and his footsteps leave large patches of black ice beneath them. This ability activates immediately, and creates a thick layer of smooth, black ice around him. The darkness contained within the ice will hold anyone in contact with it for one post. Fire still deal double damage.
Range: Eight foot radius of black ice Speed: Instant, one post duration, ice lasts for three posts Cooldown: Three posts Uses: Three times per thread Strength: Strong
Dark Blizzaga Summoning three, two-foot long spears of ice, each imbued with darkness, Raen shoots each towards a target. They have slight homing capabilities, and will ricochet off any surface once, unless they strike their target. After the ricochet, they move at half-speed. When it makes contact with the target, the ice will wrap itself around them, weighing them down. If they miss, they will form a rose-shaped hunk of ice on the ground which explodes after five seconds, sending ice shards in all directions.
Range: 30 feet to ricochet, 15 feet off bounce, shard dispersion is five feet Speed: 40 mph Cooldown: Two posts Uses: Four times per thread Strength: Strong
Arctic Grasp When Raen makes contact with a living organism, instead of absorbing their energy and warming himself up, he in fact siphons off the chill within them and warms the target up. When he does this, the added coldness doubles the strength of his next skill.
Range: Melee range Speed: Three seconds to completely charge Cooldown: Four posts Uses: Three times per thread Strength: Weak
Everybody’s got a weakness or two; what are yours?
Elemental Weakness: Fire Other Weaknesses: Having too many allies around makes him indecisive and worry about all of them, breaking his focus. Also, muggy weather or very hot weather tends to make him feel sluggish and wear him out faster than normal.
What’s your story?
Born and raised in Traverse Town, Raen has had a front-row seat to seeing all kinds of people displaced from their worlds and appearing in his. Having worked at the Traverse Town Café for quite a while, he's also met with and talked with many of these unfortunate souls who had wound up in this place due to the destruction of their own worlds. As he listened more to these strangers, he learned of the Heartless’ infestation, and the destruction they wrought upon the worlds. Upon hearing so many tales of tragedy he began to work as a guardsman with the Traverse Town Shield. They were a group of citizens who fought off Heartless so that way Traverse Town would never meet such a fate. Of course he would only do this when he wasn’t at work or at school, otherwise his parents would never have allowed it. It wasn’t until he graduated from High School that the guards gave him the weapon he now uses, Fimbulvetr, a rapier crafted by the Moogles and made especially for him, and they also gave him the patch with their insignia—a three pointed star—to signify him as an official member.
After he graduated, he began to take a more active role in defending the town, much to his parent’s displeasure. As he continued to protect the town, he and the others guards began to notice something strange: the Heartless population had begun to rapidly decrease. On the outside they were happy, but each of them knew something wasn’t right. When they talked with each other about this, they couldn't come up with any logical explanation. Over time, they had also noticed that the stars were beginning to reappear in the sky, signaling the return of worlds, and of Light, but it wasn’t until a whole day where no Heartless appeared that they understood: as with all things in the universe, a dual existence must be in balance. Life balances with Death. Heat balances with Cold. Light and Darkness must be balanced in the same way. Upon realizing this, they became morally divided on the issue: should they continue to defeat the Heartless, or try to restore the delicate balance? Disorder grew among them when many openly voiced their concerns should the balance tip one way or the other, as well as the possibility of risking their own world for the sake of this balance. Eventually, their inner conflict became too much, and they disbanded. Some remained to protect the town while others simply quit. However, a few of them wanted to know more about this situation, and so Raen and two others left in a Gummi Ship, destined for places unknown, to look for an answer to their question. As they approached a town wrapped by the blaze of a twilight sun, a Heartless ship appeared and shot their craft down, sending them spiraling into the world.
On the grassy expanse of this world does Raen awake among the wreckage of his ship. The distant clock-tower bell can be heard chiming, and the train can be heard above as it rattles across the elevated train tracks. In his dazed vision and mind he can make out a large hill and terraced city overlooking the plains. He struggles to get onto his feet…
It all comes down to this: make your choice.
You are presented with three weapons: a sword, a staff, and a shield. The sword represents the power of the warrior; invincible courage comes with this weapon as well as horrible destruction. The staff represents the power of the mystic; inner strength comes with this weapon as well as wonder and ruin. The shield represents the power of the guardian; kindness to aid friends comes with this weapon as well as a shield that will repel all.
Which one will you choose?
Chosen Weapon: Raen proudly holds the Shield
Defensive Blow You swing your weapon and then gather yourself into a blocking position, making yourself harder to damage. Until your next post, all damage you are dealt is reduced by two effectiveness points. All regular physical attacks deal no damage and cause stagger for several seconds, Weak abilities deal damage slightly below that of a physical attack and a two second stagger, Moderate abilities deal weak damage, Strong deal Moderate damage, and super-Strong deal Strong damage.
Range: Melee Speed: Swing speed Cooldown: 4 posts Uses: 3 uses Strength: Moderate
