Nobodies did not truly exist. They held some semblance of life, a mockery, and faded into nothing when destroyed. Was it not natural to seek full existence, to be a true being instead of a soulless parody?
He had seen Kingdom Hearts. Existence was almost at hand- and, with the ultimate goal in sight, he had been killed by the Keyblade wielder, destroyed utterly.
Except something had happened, and here he was, in the stone labyrinth on the outskirts of Hollow Bastion. Alive, but still without a heart. His goal had not yet been reached.
He felt nothing concerning this. He could remember that in such a situation, he was supposed to feel despair, but still he felt nothing. His despair was unreal, a mere act. Such was the defining characteristic of the Nobodies.
If he had returned, then surely the others had returned, as well. Had they regrouped? He remembered them all quite well. Xemnas, who's orders he had followed in order to obtain his goal, was surely alive. The useless ones had probably returned, too. The effeminate, treacherous Marluxia; the sadistic Larxene, who pretended to have emotions by showing them as brazenly and obnoxiously as was possible; the ineffective, arrogant Vexen; and, of course, the scheming Zexion. Had the little worm regained some of his former status? Most likely, if they had found each other.
Axel was most likely back, as well. When they were human, they had been friends. Not that Saix cared in the least. Axel was a traitor and an idiot, and would have been better off remaining in quiet oblivion.
Was he still seeking Roxas? His pathetic groveling for whatever parody he had of a friendship with Roxas would have been almost cute had it not been so blatantly pointless. Perhaps he was even tagging along with the Keyblade wielder now, trying desperately to pretend that Sora was the same as Roxas had been. That would not be unexpected in the least. Of course, it was possible that Roxas had been split off from Sora, a prospect which Saix did not find pleasant (or rather, what he would consider pleasant had he emotions) in the least.
Roxas. Have you returned to our partial existence? Or are you still contained within Sora? Either way, it would be only fitting that you cease to exist completely. You destroyed us, prevented us from gaining the hearts that we had sought for so long...Even if I am the only one who has returned, I will destroy you. There shall be another Keyblade wielder after you. And you will find that I can wait a very long time.
He opened a Corridor of Darkness and stepped through. It was time to see what had become of the Organization.
