Coffee. It was a little known skill of Jericho's that he made good coffee. He made it the hardcore way, too, with the fire and the metal teapot-thing and all that. It was even less known (read: known by no one but him) that he had learned how to do so 24 years ago from a friend's father. Of course, he never had a reason to make anyone else coffee, so it made sense that nobody knew. The coffee pot was three-quarters full and sitting on a small fire, with Jericho drinking slowly while sitting on the edge of a cliff. He was far away from the town, enough so that neither Clive nor Aerith were going to run into him by accident. Why was he doing this? Simple. Just because he was evil didn't mean he never got tired. He was quite energetic sometimes, bordering on manic, but he still needed to crash occasionally. Like right now.

I'm on my way from misery to happiness Starbucks today... Sephiroth had been on his way to Starbucks when he saw below him an interesting sight. A man drinking something that was dark. And it appeared to have been made in a pot. Did this man brew his own coffee? That was odd. Lowering himself, Sephiroth began to draw his wing back, going to fold it at his back, and decided to join the man. Particularly since it was far out of town, which likely meant that this man wasn't well liked by the populace, or he liked privacy. Either way, there would be no problem with him. "I saw your coffee and was interested. You brew it yourself?" The One Winged Angel asked as he landed. He took a nonthreatening stance, one that the man, whoever he was, likely would not react violently to. "My name is Sephiroth. What is yours?"He could feel an aura of energy around this man. Sephiroth tried to sense further, but all her could tell was that this man was formidable and had the darkness around him. That could be either good or bad. If he was evil, he could either be a loner, or with Maleficent. If he was one of Maleficent's pawns, then it was a bad thing indeed. If he was a lone villain, then it would be good. He might be able to find an ally this day. And that, that would be a sight to see.

Oh. Hi. "Hm?" Jericho looked at the silver-haired man who had just shown up, quickly compiling what information he could. The man was obvioudly powerful- you didn't have to be a genius to know that- but nothing about his demeanor signified malicious intent towards Jericho. He had a feeling of darkness about him. And he was connected to...Cloud Strife. In a strange sort of way. Jericho couldn't quite describe it, but it seemed like they were different people, yet the same person at the same time. Odd. Still, he didn't seem like he was going to attack, and Jericho might as well talk to someone. "My name's Jericho," he said. "And yeah. I don't feel like paying for one cup what I can make an entire pot by myself with." He took another sip of the coffee. "Maybe I'm just stingy."Jericho gestured to the pot. "Have some if you like. It's not bad, and there's a lot left. You'll have to drink it black, though, I don't have anything to put in it."

And so, it begins. Sephiroth nodded. "I shall take it black, then," he said, pouring himself a cup and sat to the side of Jericho. It actually tasted rather good, unusual for coffee taken black, the roasted blend taking the earthy taste and spreading it throughout the dark mixture, evenly distributing the caffeine. "It is rather well made." The comment was sheerly because it was the truth, and it was something to make polite conversation with.
It was actually quite difficult to make polite conversation. He hadn't done much of it, preferring to instead monologue to his enemies. If conversation is this difficult, I can see why Cloud does not enjoy talking. "Have you yet made the acquaintance of Cloud?" Sephiroth asked, trying to find something to talk about. "I am of his darkness, and he has tried to be rid of me many times, but I shall return always. And I quite enjoy tormenting him."
As he said that, he took another sip of the coffee. "Are there any you share a connection to, whether benefitial or detrimental?" It would be interesting to find out if his newfound coffee-companion had any connections of sorts.

Connection? Hm. Jericho accepted the compliment. "Thanks." He looked at Sephiroth. He didn't seem like a very social type. Probably spent a lot of time brooding and looking ominous. Well, Jericho would take the burden of providing most of the conversation himself. "Well, I can't say I've ever met him personally. I know who he is, though." He smiled. "You enjoy torturing him? I enjoy torturing most everybody, but if I see him I'll leave him for you."Jericho considered the question of connections. Did he have a connection with anyone? That was tough. Um... "I don't have a really close connection with anyone. There's a man here who worked for me a little, but I left him with a woman named Aerith. She was nice- a little too much so. She helped me out, but I can't say I have any meaningful connection to her." He thought a little longer. "Detrimental, though...there are a few of those. The most recent ones I can remember an incident with a girl named Emi and a kid named Castle. Emi was an insolent little shit, so I attacked the both of them. Did some lasting psychological damage, too." He laughed. "Torturing people is what I do, mostly. I can read a person's emotions, find out who they're closest to without them saying anything, amplify an emotion when I want to...It's horrible and evil, but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't also fun as hell."Hopefully Sephiroth was evil enough to agree, or at least evil enough to not revile Jericho for his hobbies.

Shared experience, and a promise of new allies, perhaps? It seemed they had a few acquaintances in common. Aerith...he had caused damage there, but that was long ago. And she was trying to fix Cloud, but he wasn't about to be fixed. And Emi. That girl he had stabbed through the chest and slashed across it. Sephiroth smirked. "Yes, I would have to agree with you on that point. The majority of life's finer things are considered horrible and evil, or, at the least, morally wrong.
"I have met Aerith before. She tries to heal the emotional damage I deal to Cloud, but she and I both know it'll never work." Taking another sip, Sephiroth continued. "I exchanged words with Emi, some light witty banter, before I sliced into her chest and left her bleeding from that cut and a stab in her right shoulder."
Oh, but life was glorious when you're evil. It was all so much sweeter. And why not share that villainous glory with another? "I enjoy destroying the mind, and the body, when the mind is not available." Stretching, Sephiroth turned to view at the man who looked, on the outside, almost normal, but when you felt what his presence was, you could tell that there was an almost spidery evil emanating from him.
Truly, they could have an evil duo unlike any other, should they decide it. The worlds would tremble at their fingertips...

A friendship made on black coffee and evil. Cool. Jericho laughed. "You left Emi bleeding? That's great. She grew wings when I fought her." He shook his head and took another sip. "Completely out of nowhere. I broke one of them."He liked having someone evil enough to talk about torture, maiming and death with as if it was a normal topic of conversation. "Well, you see, I usually save destroying the body for last- as sort of a nice end to everything. Or I use the body to get to the mind." Jericho looked back at Sephiroth. They were both evil, but were of slightly different types. Sephiroth was a calmer type than he was, and was more refined in a way. Being created out of darkness, he was perhaps slightly more sure of himself. They would work well together, given the chance. "Hmph. I made a deal with someone that I wouldn't mess with this world." He raised an eyebrow. "If I helped you do it, I suppose that wouldn't count as going back on my word."

It's the beginning of a beautiful and glorious friendship. Sounds like she stole a page out of my book, Sephiroth thought. Did she intake any of my blood when we fought? It was unlikely, but something had happened, likely, after they had fought, and it seemed to him that it was odd that she grew wings after fighting him. The One Winged Angel was not amused.
But toying with the world, plotting its destruction? Or, perhaps not destruction, but rather, subjugation. "I think this alliance, whether temporary or otherwise, would benefit the both of us. After all," Sephiroth said, his wing twitching with anticipation--and because of the caffeine, "I'm sure there is someone or someplace you would enjoy the destruction or utter subjugation of."

To me, that's a very broad question. Jericho shrugged. "I'm in it for the long run. I hate every world pretty equally, and I want to see how many I can knock off before I die." He sat back and thought for a second. "Although I suppose if I have to pick one place, I'd say Twilight Town. And if I had to pick one person...that Emi girl, I guess. I'm not really particular about hating people." This had been an interesting day to say the least. Jericho had found another monster, and they had hit it off quite nicely. He was rather looking forward to having an alliance with Sephiroth. He wasn't sure how it would end, but he didn't really need to. Jericho looked out on the horizon and planned. Planning was the most important part, after all.
