Let’s get the basics down first.
Take this pink ribbon off my eyes. I'm exposed, and it's no big surprise...don't you think I know exactly where I stand? This world is forcing me to hold your hand.
Name: Caroline Slay Nicknames: Age: 21 Gender:Female Race: Human | Heartless | Nobody | Other (Please explain) Homeworld: New Orleans, Louisiana (The Princess and the Frog) Alliance: Light | Darkness | Shadow
You’re just a puppet aren’t you? Played By: Oathkeeper Emi Age: 19 Gender: female Contact: IRC, PM Audition Link: This is only if your character is canon. Other:- Theme Song: Just a Girl- No Doubt
- Battle Music: Boomerang Boogie- Pe'z
- Birthday: September 30, 1912
- Voice: No specific voice, but it should be noted that she has a Southern drawl.
- Likes: sweet foods, cooking, baby animals
- Dislikes: long trips, insults to her cooking, mosquitoes
So tell me a little bit about yourself.
Physical Aspects: Caroline is a natural beauty, and above all a proper young lady. She has shoulder length blond hair, styled into soft curls with one side pulled away from her face and secured with a few bobby pins. Her eyes are gray like steel, though not nearly as cold or hard. She isn't particularly short or tall, and pear-shaped. She is usually found wearing a brown and white gingham dress and a pair of boots. Here is a picture of her.
Persona: - Façade: Caroline was born and raised a proper young Southern lady, with an emphasis on graciousness and hospitality. Furthermore, she was also raised to one become a wife and mother herself, despite having her every whim catered to. She cares more about the comfort and happiness of those around her than her own feelings. Normally, she is very happy, sweet and kindhearted- though she has been known to be somewhat of a crybaby and very easily crushed. She is submissive and doesn't like to cause trouble, but she knows how to put her foot down.
- Inner Mind: Even though Caroline doesn't show it, she is actually quite intelligent and educated. She has a passion for music (despite not being able to carry a tune in a bucket) and art, as well as literature and theatre. She also loves to cook, that being her favorite hobby alongside knitting and other needlework.
She can be somewhat naive about "the real world", having been sheltered her entire life by her father. She is spoiled, and likes getting her way... she had been known to manipulate people- especially men- to get what she wants.
Caroline's Code of Conduct In order to use her abilities, Caroline must abide by a strict code of conduct based around the seven heavenly virtues and seven deadly sins. Each virtue has a corresponding vice. If Caroline commits one of the sins or fails to adhere to one of the virutes, she will lose some of her power until she prays for forgiveness. Weapon(s): Augustine
A simple, lightweight sword, with a 28 inch steel blade, a brass guard and a grip made of polished ebony. It is present on Caroline's hip even when she isn't in knight form, and held in a sheath of black leather over wood. One each side of the blade, there are words engraved. One side reads "Castitas-Temperantia-Caritas-Industria-Patientia-Humanitas-Humilitas" and the other side reads "Luxuria-Gula-Avaritia-Acedia-Ira-Invidia-Superbia", representative of the seven heavenly virtues Caroline must abide by and the seven deadly sins she must avoid.
ABILITIES SECTION:
[Why, I Never...!]
Caroline delivers a solid left-handed slap to the face of her enemy, effectively stunning them for one post.
Not available in Knight Form. Weakens [Heavenfire]. If used, Heavenfire's cooldown is increased by one post, and deals only moderate damage. Any subsequent uses will add one post to [Heavenfire]'s cool down and take the damage down to weak.
Range: Enemy must be with in arm's reach. Speed: As long as it takes her to raise her hand. Cooldown: 3 posts Uses: 3 times per thread. Strength: Strong
[A Little Birdie Told Me...]
Caroline is able to make up and spread rumors with inhuman speed and distance. With this ability activated, she can say something about someone (example: "I heard Axel and Roxas are in love.") and as long as she knows who wants to hear it, that person will suddenly be aware of this knowledge... whether it is true or not. Caroline must know who she wants to hear this rumor and at a weak level, she can only spread it to people on the same world as her. Also, at this level, people are less likely to believe whatever lie she concocts. The rumor must be said outloud, even if it is only as loud as a whisper. May be true or false, negative or positive... depending on her mood and her relationship with the recipient/person the rumor is about.
Range: The recipient must be on the same world as her. Speed: The knowledge reaches the recipient as soon as it leaves her mouth. Cooldown: 3 posts Uses: 1 time per thread. Strength: Weak
[Knight Drive]
Caroline touches the cross necklace around her neck and says a short prayer, and then her knight form is activated. Her normal outfit is replaced by a full suit of armor, complete with a beautifully engraved breastplate. While in Knight Form, she can use certain abilities and also has double defense against physical and magical attacks and double strength at the cost of her speed being cut in half and the loss of her ability to use certain abilities. This form lasts for three posts or until she dismisses it. In order to be able to continue to use this form, Caroline must strictly adhere to the code she was given at the time she was blessed. The more she breaks the code, the less effectively she is able to use this form and her other abilities until she is forgiven. This ability is connected to Chastity (Castitas) and weakened by Lust (Luxuria).
Range N/A Speed The transformation happens instantaneously. Cooldown: Three posts Uses: Twice per battle Strength: Strong
[Heavenfire] Only available in knight form.
Caroline calls a column of fire from the sky down on a single target. The fire doesn't consume them, but deals strong damage. This ability is connected to Patience (Patientia) and weakened by Wrath (Ira). (If [Why, I Never...!] is used in the same thread, each use brings it down one level. The first use will make [Heavenfire] deal moderate damage, the second pulls it down to weak and the third makes it totally ineffective.)
Range: The target must be within ten feet of Caroline. Speed: The fire takes only a few seconds to reach its target. Cooldown: 3 posts (+1 for every use of [Why, I Never...!], up to 3 posts.) Uses: Twice per battle Strength: Strong
[Hands of Elijah] Available outside of knight form, but only half as effective.
Caroline touches an injured or sick person and can heal up to strong damage after saying a short prayer. She must be touching them and must not be interrupted during the one post process, so it's not very effective during a battle. When she is not in knight form, she can only heal up to weak damage. This ability is connected to Charity (Caritas) and weakened by Greed (Avaritia).
Range: Close contact- Caroline must be touching the person. Speed: Takes one post to complete. Cooldown: 3 posts Uses: Twice per thread Strength: Strong
[Hands of Elisha] Only available in knight form.
Caroline says a short prayer and waves her hand in the direction of a single target. That target is stricken with blindness that lasts for 4 complete posts or until she dismisses it. This ability also allows her to heal any blind status effects whether she inflicted it or not. This ability is connected to Humility (Humilitas) and weakened by Pride (Suberbia).
Range: The target must be within six feet of Caroline. Speed: Blindness is instaneous, as is the healing. Cooldown: 3 posts Uses: Once per thread for both infliction and healing. Strength: Strong
Everybody’s got a weakness or two; what are yours?
Elemental Weakness: Earth Other Weaknesses:
What’s your story?
Caroline is the youngest of three sisters, born into the lap of luxury in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was showered with love, affection and material possessions from infancy. Her father, though he often stated he did not have a favorite, obviously cared for Caroline more than her two sisters. Whether it was her status as the baby of the family, or because of her chronic illnesses that left her physically weak, her father sheltered her from the outside world. Caroline grew up sweet, but naive.
The Slay family was very well. Caroline attended private schools and finished her high school education, and even as a young child she would attend parties and other events for the upper class. She lived at home with her parents, two sisters, and their maid, cook and other hired help. Her life was easy. She only worked when she felt like it and spend the rest of her time pursuing her various interests, attending parties and essentially just doing what she pleased.
After the Depression hit, their money quickly dwindled and Caroline's father kept their debt a secret from his wife and daughters- until it was too late. In a last ditch attempt to regain their fortune, he gambled the last of their money... and lost. He was left with nothing and no way to support their lifestyle any longer.
Faced with the uncertainty of a completely different way of life, Caroline was obviously very afraid and confused. Things only got worse from there.
Daddy couldn't pay what he owed to his gambling buddies, who had become much less buddy-buddy when they realized he couldn't pay up. They resorted to kidnapping Caroline and requesting a very large ransom- hoping that Daddy would come running to save his beloved daughter. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to make it in time and the trio of men took Caroline far away in order to use her to regain their money.
Caroline was desperate for help in the custody of these three men. Ain rescued her and after a tussle with Jericho and Nadia in Notre Dame, he returned her home. Things didn't go well however. Caroline was forced to shoot and kill one of the gangsters living in her old house- her family had sense been forced out due to financial strain- and when Becky, her stiflingly religious older sister, found out she reported Caroline and Ain to the authorities. Ain agreed to have Caroline travel with him, and that is what they have done.
It all comes down to this: make your choice.
You are presented with three weapons: a sword, a staff, and a shield. The sword represents the power of the warrior; invincible courage comes with this weapon as well as horrible destruction. The staff represents the power of the mystic; inner strength comes with this weapon as well as wonder and ruin. The shield represents the power of the guardian; kindness to aid friends comes with this weapon as well as a shield that will repel all.
Which one will you choose?
Chosen Weapon: Caroline chooses the Shield but unfortunately, isn't able to pick it up.
The moment that I step outside, so many reasons for me to run and hide. I can't do the little things I hold so dear, 'cause it's all those little things that I fear.

Well, well, this should definitely make for some fun interactions. And I love the ability, too, haha. I don't see any problems with this. So, then:
