Let’s get the basics down first.
Name: Ethan Hargrave Nicknames: The Sheep-skinned Fox Age: 35 Gender: Male Race: Human Homeworld: Neverland | A drifter of worlds Alliance: Darkness
You’re just a puppet aren’t you? Played By: Aerith Age: 23 Gender: Female Contact: PM Audition Link: N/A Other:
So tell me a little bit about yourself.
Physical Aspects: As Ethan well knows, appearance is just another tool that can be used to further plans. Therefore, he is careful to always maintain the best facade possible.
His 6'1" frame is 215 pounds of toned muscle that he makes certain to keep in impeccable shape. His dark brown, almost black, hair is thick but neatly cut short, and his face is clean-shaven. His eyes are an icy blue in color.
Ethan's clothing choices are expensive, but he has plenty of funds tucked away in various corners of the universe to afford them. The usual ensemble consists of dark grey dress slacks with a white pinstripe in them, black dress shoes, a white button down shirt, a black tie with white diagonal striping, and a black silk vest with two pockets on the bottom front. He also wears a plain silver ring on a chain around his neck, though that's kept hidden beneath his shirt at all times. To top all of this off, he loves wearing a charcoal-colored fedora at a slight angle.
Persona: - Façade: Ethan is usually the picture of the perfect gentleman--polite, accommodating, and even kind. He will go out of his way to help someone in need, but only if such an action directly benefits his designs. He is very difficult to anger or upset, and even if something happens to invoke such violent feelings in him, he is skilled at keeping any signs of it from affecting his outward appearance.
He has a very deep sense of humor, though the true depth of it is shown only to those who can appreciate the darker implications. He uses his humor to reinforce his easy-going persona. People are far more relaxed around someone who knows not to take himself seriously at all times. Ethan knows this well and takes advantage of it.
He is generally reserved, even when employing his humor, but he does have a fondness for the dramatic. However, this flair very rarely surfaces and only when he knows it will make the biggest impact. Sometimes, he simply cannot help himself, especially if plans are clicking along with absolute perfection.
Ethan prioritizes his plans above all else, even the plans of his allies. Although, he can be very persuasive, using his words alone to convince others to do exactly what he wants them to do, often without them knowing it. His plans are not so set in concrete that he cannot alter them should the need arise, and in fact, he will do this at times simply to confuse those opposed to him. Adversaries cannot so easily end his schemes if they cannot predict them.
- Inner Mind: All of Ethan's genial behavior is a mere front for the deep-seated rage and disgust he harbors against humanity and all of its flaws. To him, there is but one way to fix those flaws, and that is through complete annihilation. At times, this might translate into a touch of a God Complex, but Ethan holds no full-blown delusions that he is a deity who will save mankind through destruction or that he has evolved beyond the flaws of humanity.
No, Ethan fully recognizes that he possesses the very same flaws he despises in everyone else. Rather than producing self-disgust, though, Ethan embraces those flaws and uses them to fuel his hatred against those who believe themselves innocent or even heroic when they are anything but.
In moments of rare weakness and only when he thinks he is alone, sorrow will consume him when he remembers his dead beloved. But these bouts of sadness are quickly replaced with more fury, for he also remembers what drove her to her death.

Stand up and fight.
Weapon(s): - Body – Because sometimes, you just have to do things yourself. Ethan has spent a considerable amount of time perfecting his ability to use his body as its own weapon. This is to ensure that he is never caught weaponless.
- Acrimony – An elaborate ebony cane that hides a roughly three-foot sword. Ethan "borrowed" this relic of the past from a museum in London. He has no plans to return it, of course.
ABILITIES SECTION: Ethan's discovery of Sophia's spirit, now twisted by the darkness, has granted him a connection to the dead not many share outside of Hades himself. This connection manifests in his ability to employ various forms of necromancy against his opponents.
Magnetism Recognizing that influence is power, Ethan has developed a personal aura that will make him seem even more trustworthy than his actions and words can alone. Invisible and ever-present, this aura affects the subconscious of others by causing them to feel at ease in Ethan's presence. However, he also knows such feelings when he is around are not always favorable, so he can control the aura's area of effect. His new powers of necromancy also allow him to use this literally as a magnet to attract souls.
Range: Ten feet in every direction around Ethan at maximum; physical contact required if he is restricting it to its minimum. There is no limit to how many souls of the dead he can attract or how close they have to be so long as they are attached to the same world Ethan currently occupies. Speed: When Ethan chooses to extend the aura to its maximum range, the change happens almost instantaneously. Cooldown: N/A Uses: Passive Strength: Moderate
Run Cur Run An ability based around Ethan's desire to expose the cowardly nature of all humankind, this is a deceptive skill that appears to do one thing while in reality accomplishing an entirely different purpose. Ethan begins by swinging his sword a total of three times, sending out ethereal blades of non-elemental energy. However, these are completely harmless in and of themselves. If an opponent stays rooted to their current position, the blades will do minimal damage at best, the equivalent of one normal attack. The real power behind the ability comes if the three blades are dodged. Once an opponent has finished dodging, six tendrils of darkness burst from the ground and ensnare the blades' original target. The tendrils are nearly physical and have the ability to cut off circulation with how tightly they grasp their prey. For a single post, anyone caught in this trap suffers darkness damage matching the strength of this ability and temporary hallucinations unique to the target augmented by a cloud of spirits that Ethan layers around the victim. These do no physical damage but serve only as added mental torment.
Range: The three blades can travel up to 30 feet before vanishing; the tendrils spring directly from the ground around the target whenever they have stopped their dodging motion. Speed: The blades travel at speeds of up to 15 mph (to encourage targets to dodge); the tendrils lash out at decidedly quicker speeds, up to 35 mph. There is a very brief, two-second delay between the target ceasing motion and the target getting ensnared. Cooldown: 3 posts Uses: 3 uses per thread Strength: Strong
Crossing Acheron Ethan can reap the souls of the recently deceased and warp them with darkness, effectively denying them an easy trip to the Underworld. This leaves them in a similar state to Sophia, with amplified hatred toward anything still alive (with the exception of Ethan or his allies). He can perform this on up to five corpses at a time.
Range: As long as a corpse is within Ethan's line of sight, he can reap a soul Speed: It takes several seconds to complete the reaping and subsequent corruption Cooldown: 2 posts Uses: 4 uses per thread Strength: Weak
Lethe's Erasure Ethan can turn the souls of the dead into weapons by destroying their very essence, sending them into true oblivion. A destroyed soul produces an explosion that releases darkness damage from the corruption necessary to erase it from existence. He can destroy up to three souls at a time.
Range: The explosion caused by a single soul is about a foot in diameter. Speed: Instantaneous Cooldown: 3 posts Uses: 5 uses per thread Strength: Weak
Phlegethon's Fire Taking the essences of the dead, Ethan can transform souls into blue fire that he can hurl at his opponents. He can bend this fire in any way he wishes, but he most usually shapes it into orbs to throw.
Range: In whatever shape the fire is, it can only travel up to 20 feet from Ethan before it dissipates. Speed: When thrown, the fire orbs reach speeds of 25 mph. Cooldown: 3 posts Uses: 4 uses per thread Strength: Weak
Styx's Grasp Since Animositas does not possess a soul, Ethan can attach a soul to her, giving the soul a temporary corporeal form and giving Ani a temporary x2 boost in attack power. Additionally, whenever Ani is in possession of a soul, she can maintain the illusion of humanity to the point that even if someone were to touch her, she would feel real rather than armor-like. The soul stays attached to Ani for two posts after the post in which Ethan attaches it.
Range: Ethan can attach a soul to Ani as long as the armor is within 15 feet of him. Speed: Instantaneous Cooldown: 4 posts (after the soul leaves Ani) Uses: 3 uses per thread Strength: Weak
Everybody’s got a weakness or two; what are yours?
Elemental Weakness: Light, Fire Other Weaknesses: He has a tendency to fly into a blind rage should anyone suggest suicide.
What’s your story?
Ethan lived a very normal life in the London portion of Neverland. He was born to normal parents, had a couple of normal siblings, and went to a very normal school. It was all quite mundane, but he learned to cope by throwing himself wholeheartedly into his studies. His mind was like a sponge, soaking up any and all interesting facts and tidbits he could find in his books. He was also very sociable, spending time with his abundance of friends.
While finishing his schooling, Ethan met and fell in love with a girl named Sophia Devonshire. She was from a very prominent family, however, and any union between them was prohibited by her family. Neither Ethan nor Sophia would have any of that, so one night, they met in secret and consummated their love. However, the Devonshires and eventually almost the entire town discovered what had happened. While Ethan was chastised in some ways, Sophia suffered the far worse disgrace, including but not limited to public ridicule. She could not go anywhere without hearing whispers of her harlotry. But Ethan could do nothing to help her, which tore daily at his heart.
One night, he found a note she had left him, asking him to meet her at Big Ben. Without a second thought, he hurried over, only to see her disappear up the stairs. He followed as quickly as possible. Instead of the joy he thought he would feel at seeing her alone again, he was horrified to find her standing so close to the edge of the tower.
When he called out to her, she turned to him with the most pitiable look on her face. She said nothing, but Ethan knew exactly what was going through her mind. He tried to persuade her not to do it. He tried with every ounce of feeling he could muster. She just looked at him, the hurt clearly written all over her face. He was consumed with guilt in that moment. This was his fault. It must have been.
She was there one moment, and then suddenly she fell.
All Ethan could do was stand there in silence for a long while, the turmoil within him threatening to break loose in some form or another. A glint of silver drew him closer to the edge where his beloved had just stood. It was a ring he had given her, promising his eternal affections. He picked it up and stared at it, so small in his hand.
No. This was not his fault. He had done nothing except love her with all of his being. It was them. Those people down there that went on about their lives as if nothing they did was wrong or terrible. So self-absorbed. They had no idea what they had done.
He would make every last one of them pay.
Ever since, he has traveled the worlds, using the depravity he finds to feed his hatred. If he has his way, no one will be left in ignorance. They will either see the truth of what they are and embrace it or despair in that knowledge and die the death Sophia did.
It all comes down to this: make your choice.
You are presented with three weapons: a sword, a staff, and a shield. The sword represents the power of the warrior; invincible courage comes with this weapon as well as horrible destruction. The staff represents the power of the mystic; inner strength comes with this weapon as well as wonder and ruin. The shield represents the power of the guardian; kindness to aid friends comes with this weapon as well as a shield that will repel all.
Which one will you choose?
Chosen Weapon: Ethan considers the pros and cons before choosing the Sword.
Swift Blow Swinging your weapon with all of your might, you achieve speeds unlike any other you have ever obtained. Your weapon glows faintly as you smash, slash, hack, stab, or otherwise injure your foe with greater speed than normal.
Range: Melee Speed: 2x swing speed Cooldown: 4 posts Uses: 2 uses Strength: Weak
