Physical Aspects: Soren is very tall for his age, 6'1". He has silver eyes, messy red hair, and a large tattoo of a green phoenix (the symbol of the Aysurians) on his arm. He keeps the red feathers growing on his shoulders hidden under his clothes. He wears a sleeveless leather jacket, a white T-shirt with ripped-up sleeves, and a pair of light blue jeans.
Most notable are the white wings protruding from his back.
Picture of Gabriel
Façade: Gabriel, being conditioned by years of indoctrination and training since birth, is a brutal and efficient killer. Often, he seems to be little more than a machine. However, sometimes there are small glimpses of humanity within.
When these are shown, he seems to be nothing more than a sad, scared boy, although these moments fade quickly, replaced by a cold, calculating silence.
Inner Mind: The remnants of Soren's personality still struggle inside of Gabriel, and he is often conflicted. He desperately longs for things to be the way they were before his memories were brought back, and the only thing keeping him from hating Daniel with a passion is the effects of Iblis inside of him.
He loathes the idea of becoming nothing more than a weapon, but the sight of Heartless triggers such intense hatred that he automatically slips into the killer part of himself. With each one of these fumbles, the Soren personality becomes weaker and weaker. As that personality fades, he becomes stronger as his true abilities are unlocked.

What’s your story?
Soren is a hybrid, a child born of an Aysurian fighter and a human merchant. The Aysurians had a society built around a very strong religion in which those without wings were considered unable to ascend after death, and consequently isolated themselves from other worlds, allowing only the occasional merchant to pass through. Because of this, the child and the Aysurian mother were both considered impure, the human father cast out and prevented from ever returning, and the mother would have to give birth in exile, with no assistance whatsoever. If she survived, then it was the wish of their gods that she and her child should live.
Miraculously, she survived, and her child had all the features of a pure-blooded Aysurian, albeit his face, which resembled that of a human. They were reluctantly allowed back into society, although treated with a modicum of contempt by everyone.
The boy didn't care. He grew up young and strong, with pure white wings and a slightly more muscular frame than most Aysurians. He wasn't as smart as the others his age- his mental makeup was that of a human's- but he took a keen interest in the religion of Aysur, so much so that many believed that, despite his tragic mental impurities, he was born into this world to absolve his mother's crimes. Because of this, he was treated less with contempt and more with the sort of affection one would a very young, naive child. Meanwhile, his mother remained distant from society, secretly keeping in contact with her human lover through another merchant friendly to Aysur.
One day, though, everything changed. The earth began to shake. Horrible, shadowy creatures rose from the earth and attacked. The Aysurian fighters did everything they could, but were eventually slain. Soren went to one of the shrines as everything fell apart around him and prayed to the gods for his world to be saved, and took the spear at the altar into his own hands to fight off the monsters with his mother.
But he had little skill and no training. His attacks were useless, and he was quickly knocked unconscious.
When he woke up, he was on the ship of the merchant who knew his father. The merchant said that his mother, gravely injured, had brought Soren to the merchant and begged him to take him to his father. When Soren asked what had happened to his planet, the merchant pointed sadly out the window. Soren looked out just in time to see his world lost to the darkness.
He was sent to Traverse Town to live with his father under the name Soren Gray (his traditional Aysurian name was too strange and long for common use, not to mention unpronouncable). Soren spent the first few months in a deep depression, grieving, until he realized that he wasn't the only one who had lost their world, and if he sat there moping then he wouldn't be able to keep others from suffering the same fate.
It was then that Soren became determined to become a strong fighter and keep worlds from being lost to the darkness.
His Aysurian name translates roughly into "one born of fire". This combined with his headstrong, impulsive nature has earned him the nickname Firebrand.
It all comes down to this: make your choice.
You are presented with three weapons: a sword, a staff, and a shield. The sword represents the power of the warrior; invincible courage comes with this weapon as well as horrible destruction. The staff represents the power of the mystic; inner strength comes with this weapon as well as wonder and ruin. The shield represents the power of the guardian; kindness to aid friends comes with this weapon as well as a shield that will repel all.
Which one will you choose?
