Why did I join this group, again? The strong-looking one- Lexaeus- was offered a position as the new Superior, which he promptly declined. Then there was a bunch of back-and-forth talk as they worked out an idea for a council. Honestly, she didn't like the idea. If they were already so eager to kill each other and betray each other, what hope did they have to function as a unit? It would all be an inefficient mess, and Aixfeur hardly wanted a part of it. Then the Academic spoke. His idea was a better one in Aixfeur's mind. "I agree. Weak or strong, there should be some form of leadership," she said after Vexen had finished talking. ____________________________ Saïx listened to the proceedings carefully. Both ideas were admittedly valid ones, with their own advantages and disadvantages. The new Number Twelve had thrown her support behind Vexen's idea, whereas Axel and Zexion supported Lexaeus's idea. And what did he prefer? Well, although things might run slower if each Organization member had equal say, the dangers posed in having a leader would worsen the situation. As a member of the coup himself, he knew the problems that a leader could bring to the table, and the Organization would not be able to take another betrayal. "Lexaeus is correct in this."

Well, this is unfamiliar territory. -------- Vexen's comments about how much say Axel should get in all this (none, of course) rolled off the Flame. There was no reason to respond to them. Why else would Axel be here if not to rejoin the Organization? Neither Zexion nor Saïx had dragged him here against his will. If Vexen was too dense to understand that, then he was too dense to comprehend any explanations offered to him.
Unfortunately, it was necessary to respond to the Academic's proposed compromise. However, Axel spoke in such a way that it was not directed solely at Vexen but at everyone present. "Any leader, no matter how limited in power, is still going to create problems. For one thing, a single Nobody has to be picked to fill that position. Who is that going to be, and how do you plan on limiting his--or her--power?" He gave the two females a glance. Not that either of the neophytes would be considered to lead the Organization, but from what he could see, both of them looked very left out.
"And what makes you think having a leader is going to magically erase all the tension in this Organization? A leader is going to naturally have more influence than the rest of us. So, things will not truly be equal."
He's go along with whatever ended up happening, really. He just liked playing the devil's advocate. Unless, of course, Vexen somehow ended up in the leader spot. If that happened, the Flame would get out of here as fast as he could.

-It'll take a miracle to make this dysfunctional group work. Period.- As soon as Vexen spoke, Zexion wanted to just rest his head in his hands, tune everything out, and call it a day. Must the Academic come up with an argument for everything? Quite honestly, he was the one dragging this meeting on and on. Everyone else but him, and Aixfeur apparently, were for the council idea. He wanted a leader still, someone with limited power. A leader would not work at all, not with this Organization. Wasn't it obvious that leaders failed? Hadn't he, Axel, and Saïx proved that leaders could easily be taken down and thus destroy a group entirely? That was just one of the many problems with having one person in charge of a group like the Organization.
And then Axel spoke, giving him even more reasons. Yes, he could build on that, help the Flame's argument along here. He saw it as valid. "Whether or not you agree with him being here Vexen, Axel raises a valid problem with having a leader. Who would be able to keep the leader's power in check? There would have to be others above him, which would cause a rift between power levels. Who would we be able to trust to keep the leader in line? From what I've gathered today, none of us would be able to agree upon that."
He paused, thinking more and going back into his thinking position as he glanced around the room. "The Organization, from the beginning, has been imbalanced." He looked particularly at the remaining members of the original six, especially Vexen. "Putting a leader into place, no matter how much trust he or she has earned, would only create further imbalance. Power needs to be equal until this Organization. We can make this work if we learn to work and cooperate with one another professionally." He didn't look at anyone in particular this time, keeping his eyes moving slowly around the room.
"If we cannot even do that, then how can you believe that putting a leader in place would fix things? It will only make the problem worse, not better." He narrowed his gaze and silenced himself, waiting for another Organization member to contribute to the chaotic open discussion they were having. His arms went back to being crossed now.He didn't want to have to say these sorts of things. Lexaeus had earned everyone's trust, especially his own. Unfortunately, he could not simply be a leader because of that.

"...That is a good question." Lexaeus admitted. "Who could be trusted to keep the leader in check?" He took a long glance over the members sitting, and the non-member standing. "With this type of organization, there is an answer to that. The answer is everyone else." He settled back in his seat, once again sweeping his gaze over everyone there. "A leader cannot lead if enough people disagree with him. If he commanded something like that anyway, it would lead to betrayal in the end."
He shook his head. "A leader in a council need only keep the others in check and working together. He need not control everything to be a leader."

-And do you think you can lead this Organization?- To Zexion's surprise, Lexaeus answered his question. He had sort of meant it to be rhetorical since he didn't see an answer, but his fellow Organization member did. Unfortunately, his answer made sense. The rest of the members were to keep the leader's power in check, thereby putting everyone on a somewhat equal level. There would still be a difference between leader and the rest, but not nearly as much as there had been with Xemnas. The Schemer was still mostly against the idea of having Lexaeus in charge, but perhaps it would be a better idea. The entire Organization trusted him and he knew how to make intelligent decisions. He could stabilize this group.
Though, the question still remained. Would he even accept a position of power? He hadn't answered that question yet, even after many of the members agreeing with his nomination. Well, time to question that then. Zexion uncrossed his arms and looked straight to Lexaeus, the only time he truly did so during the entire meeting. "You make a fair argument. There would be less of a rift between those who have power and those who do not. However, do you think you will be able to do this then? Most of the Organization has made it clear that whether or not they desire a leader, you are the one that they trust the most."
He kept his gaze on Lexaeus, his mind still going after he asked the necessary question. If Lexaeus refused, then the Organization was back to square one. Many of the members had made it clear that they would not trust anyone else. Saïx had declined the position when Axel suggested it and no one else had been nominated.

Lexaeus had been considering this already from the moment Vexen had nominated him to take over as Superior. There were several questions he had had to ask himself. Did he think that he could do the job? Undoubtedly. There was no question of that, especially not as being the leader of a council. Did he want the job? Yes and no. It was a position of great risk. He wanted to still be here when they regained their hearts.
Would he take the job?
There was but a single answer, for the good of the Organization.
"Yes."

-Well now that we got that taken care of, let's talk about the more important issue, shall we?- That was all Zexion needed to hear. If Lexaeus was willing to take the job, then he could not continue arguing against it. It would only be a pointless endeavor. If the illusionist had heard everyone correctly, they all supported Lexaeus one way or another. Even if they did not want a leader, they could agree that he would be the best option. Finally, it seemed the Organization had reached a compromise, no less by Vexen's suggestion. That was certainly a first, though probably the last time he would do so.
The Schemer nodded his head in acceptance. "Then I believe that part of the meeting is in order," he said, "This Organization will run as a council with Lexaeus leading us. If things go as planned, then we will be a much more stable group. Ranks will be unnecessary." He paused for a second, thinking quickly. "As for missions, I believe the process of having members sign up to do them will be more efficient. However, one must complete at least one mission a week, if that is all right with you Lexaeus. I can also write that up and post it in the Grey Room if you wish."
Yes, he supposed he was taking the little amount of control he could get here. He wanted order, needed it, and this was how he wanted to achieve it. Things would work better if members signed up for missions instead of being ordered to do them. Though, that was for later. There were even more pressing matters at stake than the order of the Organization. Zexion did not just start this meeting to announce Xemnas's death but also the threat of the Champion. He needed to remind them of that right now.
He took out his Lexicon and opened it on his lap, looking to the rest of the Organization. "Now that we have somewhat established how we will function, we need to focus our attention to this." Immediately following these words, he created the illusion of the Keyblade Graveyard, the section with the Champion's collection Keyblades in particular, for all to see. "As stated before, the Champion has slain fifty four Keyblade Masters including King Mickey, posing a direct threat to our goal. As seen by the pattern below..." He showed the specific pattern of the seven days with each of the graves to the Organization. "He will return with King Mickey's Keyblade three days from now."
He paused, making the illusion disappear. Between that and creating an elaborate version of Kingdom Hearts, and this meeting, he was already getting fatigued. "I have already alerted the forces of light residing in Radiant Garden along with Sora and his friends about this. We will be fighting alongside them at the Graveyard on this day. If any of you can find others to join the fight against the Champion, you had best do so." The Lexicon disappeared and he sat back in his chair, relaxing. "Are there any questions?"

If that's everything, I'm out of here. --------- Things seemed to be settled for the time being. The Organization would operate in more of a council system, with Lexaeus acting as its head. Time would tell how long that would last. But the most important thing was that the arrangement held for the next few days.
Zexion made sure to remind them all about the Champion and how he was threatening Keybladers, which in turn threatened their very goals. After seeing where the Champion would be appearing in three days, Axel pushed himself of the base of his chair.
"So, meet three days from now at the Graveyard? Sounds good. If plans change, let me know or something."
He was rather dismissive about the whole situation, mostly because he had grown tired of this whole meeting. And really, the only Nobody here he really wanted to talk to right now was Saïx.
Without further comment, he summoned a Corridor and left.

+1 Vexen Aixfeur spoke up in agreement to the Academic's proposition, supporting the point that leadership was needed. He was almost starting to like this one... Of course Axel felt the need to object to the wonderful idea, wasting everyone's time with his pointless rhetorical questions. It was not surprising for the Flame, dull as he was, to be missing such mind-numbingly obvious answers, though he was slightly surprised by the Schemer's total lack of insightful. Goodness gracious...
The other members would keep the leader in check, obviously. No one would need to be above them. Vexen did not feel that he should have to spell something so blatant out from the others. Thankfully, Lexaeus was at least able to understand this, explaining it to the others. Not that this was some brilliant revelation. It was what he had assumed they would be smart enough to understand without explanation. "Oh good, finally someone gets it." he murmured with exasperation.
As if having the wonderfully trustworthy Silent Hero on board suddenly made the plan so much better, Zexion conceded to it, asking the real question: would Lexaeus accept the position? As Vexen had hoped, and expected, he agreed. "Excellent." he smiled, satisfied that at least this one thing was going his way. And good that it was. Were it not for him, there would have been no one to prevent the situation from becoming a complete catastrophe.
The meeting was then moved onto the subject of the Champion. Apparently, both he and Zexion had mutually decided to share the information. Odd, that Vexen would have forgotten such a decision... He wondered if the Schemer had ever consulting Lexaeus on the mater, as he had said he would. Probably not. Having already seen it, he did not pay much attention to the illusions that appeared.
"Meeting adjourned then, I suppose..." he commented with annoyance, after Axel's rather rude departure. Well, he might as well leave himself. There were preparations to make before the conflict... Glancing to his right, he shot Number Six a look that said "You'll be hearing from me later." With that, he disappeared in the same manor in which he had arrived.

Considering that he'd just gotten Lexaeus placed in a leadership position, Vexen wasn't giving him the respect that he should, determining that the meeting was ended without anyone else agreeing or Lexaeus confirming it.
Considering his new position, though... and the actions Zexion's had taken... perhaps it was time to end the meeting now that the Organization knew where to be. "I will see you all in three days." With that sentence, he meant to make it clear that he was going to be avoiding the rest of the Organization for the next few days. He needed time to think as well as time to train. "Be as ready as possible."
The darkness surrounded him and swallowed him up.

Goodbye, then. -------- That seemed to be the end of the meeting. Axel, Vexen, and Lexaeus all left. From her chair, she glanced at Zexion who was very quiet now. The silence dragged on for several more minutes until she finally took her leave, as well.
"Three days it is, then." Before that happened, though, she needed to meet with the Champion. There was certainly much to tell him.
A Corridor enveloped her.

-How am I even going to go about this?- The meeting was officially adjourned. Axel left first while Vexen left second, giving Zexion a look that told him they would speaking later. "I don't think so,"
he thought to himself. The next couple of days he needed to stay away from the Organization. First, he needed to prepare some sort of strategy for when they arrived at the Keyblade Graveyard. Secondly, he needed to scope out Radiant Garden and make sure that Xehanort had not appeared once more. He had to be sure, no matter what his logic told him. Lexaeus and Alanix left shortly afterward, the former's words short and blunt. Zexion looked away from his throne upon his exit. How was he going to fix this? Was there a way to fix this? From the way he saw it, Lexaeus had every right to never trust him again. He would have to work his way into getting some of that trust back, though it would have to be after they dealt with the Champion. Maybe by that time, he will have figured out how to get back into Lexaeus's trust... right. Zexion gazed around the room one last time before leaving. Nyxar was still there, no surprise. Saïx and Aixfeur seemed about ready to leave as well. Xigbar was... asleep. Of course. He'd wake up eventually though; it wasn't the Schemer's job to wake him up. He left through a Corridor of Darkness without saying a word, leaving the meeting room silent once again.[/blockquote]
