Aerith seemed like a very nice person; kind and gentle, something Kadaj had not experienced a heck of a lot of. That made him seriously wonder what she saw in Cloud, especially since Kadaj never considered the blond to be a nice person. Though, the two never knew each other on a personal level. Sephiroth had only known him as an enemy and nothing more, not leaving the remnant with much at all. Though, he was not about to go against what Sephiroth knew; Kadaj didn't like Cloud, plain and simple. He wasn't about to go be friendly with blondie if he could avoid it.
Now that he knew where she knew Cloud from, she was asking him how he knew him. Well, that was a loaded question. Though, he grinned as he told her casually as if he were talking about the weather outside. "Oh, I never knew him. Sephiroth knew him and that's how I know him I guess." He did not want to go too much deeper into the subject, his eyes becoming downcast for a moment. Others may have found being Sephiroth's remnant to be a blessing, something fantastic; Kadaj found it to be the bane of his existence. He would always be compared to Sephiroth because he was a remnant and he would always come up as less than the other, a fact that he despised with his very being.
However, he needed to ignore those thoughts for now. He looked back up and smiled, looking toward the dance floor. He partially wondered how much he could anger this blond swordsman, how much he would hate it if he started dancing with his girl. He could tell that the two were close, even though Cloud would never probably admit it because he was too proud or something. That was what made this even more fun. He offered his hand toward Aerith, a small glint in his eyes.
"Care to dance with me?" he asked. Sure, he didn't know too much about dancing, but he could improvise. He had seen enough people do it over time to get a hint of it. He supposed it was a little ridiculous, but he had that bit of alcohol running through his veins. It sent his already overconfident ways into overdrive... as well as most of his other emotions. Besides, the point wasn't to show off any dance skills he might or might not have. The point was to make Cloud pissed as hell so he would stop being a bump on a log and move. It was antagonistic of him, yes, but what fun was anything without a little antagonism?

"I think I want to dance... is that a good idea?" -- " Watch it," Emi mocked in a high pitched voice. Having very nicely been given another tequila-citrus soda mixture (she didn't really mind the moogles anymore), Emi twisted so that she sat on the bar itself inbetween Raen and Cheza. She repeated the same slamming ritual as before and finished the mix in one go. She sat the cup down lightly and crossed her legs. Very lady-like. Very out of character. She had completely forgotten what it felt like to be drunk, having not had a single sip of alcohol since she left Twilight Town, but she was quickly remembering. However, she was forgetting the terrible headache she would have in a few hours. No matter. That was in a few hours and this was now. " Sorry I spilled your drink," she said. She didn't sound very sorry though.

As Long as You're Sorry He was glad to find someone who hadn't tried to kill him previously or caused him to spill his drink. " Thanks," Raen said, looking at Cheza. " Yeah, this is some place." He downed the rest of his drink and set the glass down. When the moogle went to refill it, he waved his hand and the moogle nodded his head and left to help the other customers. When Emi sat down between them, Raen turned his head and rolled his eyes, but figured he should deal with her. When she said "Sorry" in a rather bratty tone, he half wondered whether or not to freeze her drink the next time some that she would learn how to hold her liquor.

She's Not Interested Cloud glared at Kadaj, as he bean talking to Aerith. What was he playing at? The nice persona he was putting on couldn't have been more obviously fake. Being a good liar was one trait of Sephiroth's that this remnant definitely didn't have. He kept his mouth preoccupied with the beer bottle, using it as a means to resist the urge to say something he knew would only start a fight. It may have been something he wanted to do, but he didn't want to make himself look bad in front of Aerith. That was probably exactly what he wanted him to do. Realizing that it was now empty, he set the bottle down on the counter, only to be surprised be he moogle sliding him another one. Under different cirumstances he might not have taken it, but at this point anything to help sooth him would be appretiated. He flinched slightly as she lightly poked him in the arm while answering Kadaj's question. "Yeah..." he replied in response to her question, even though it had probably been meant rhetorically. It felt really strange to be watching one of his friends talk about him with an enemy like the one in front of him. Wanting to end the conversation immediately, when Aerith asked how they knew each other, he almost did the answering, but he was beaten to it. Upon the next question asked, he almost choked on his drink. Anger immediately began to flow through him. Who the hell did Kadaj think he was? One thing was for sure: Cloud wasn't about to let him dance with Aerith. He had to do something fast... "Actually-- I was about to ask you to dance with me." he told her, slightly nervously. It wasn't the most tactful thing he could have come up with, and he probably wouldn't have said it had it not been for the alcohol, but it was the only way to avoid the alternative without having to punch anyone in the face. Even if that person really deserved to be punched in the face.

Aerith's surprise at being asked to dance by Kadaj was further compounded by Cloud's invitation. She was not used to this, to say the least. And now, two men were waiting on an answer from her. Blushing a little--she told herself it was only because of her drink--she looked first at Kadaj, then at Cloud. On the one hand, Kadaj was quite a bit more outgoing than Cloud ever was, and he even might be able to carry on an interesting conversation using more than five words in the span of five minutes. On the other hand, Cloud could be incredibly cute when he was awkward. She finished off the rest of her white wine, set the glass back on the counter of the bar, and then stood up, smoothing her dress a little. Without saying anything to either of her potential dance partners, she walked out to the middle of the dance floor and spun back around to face them. Pointing with her index finger, she began to play a silent version of "eeny-meeny-miny-moe," all the while trying to contain the laugh that threatened to burst out of her at any second. When her finger stopped, it rested in Cloud's direction. She smiled widely at him and beckoned him over. But she also looked at Kadaj and said, "Don't you go anywhere, though. It wouldn't be polite of me to ignore your invitation, either." She gave him a smile and a wink. She was aware of how divergent her current behavior was from how she would normally act, but she was having fun. That, and the wine in her system was most certainly playing with her usual inhibitions. Open flirtation, even with a guy who was apparently a remnant of Sephiroth, wasn't so taboo for her at the moment. She turned her attention to the approaching Cloud, boldly taking his hand and leading him farther onto the dance floor. "I didn't think you were the dancing type, Cloud. If you're not careful, you might break that shell of yours. And then, what would the world come to?" Laughing, she released his hand and let the music move her, hips swaying to the beat. "Well, come on!" she encouraged him. "You asked me to dance, so dance with me!"

"I am so drunk right now lolololololol." -- Emi frowned. " No, really. I'm sorry. I really am." Made even more unbelievable by the fact she was now slightly swaying and in danger of falling off the bar. She slid off the bar and her feet hit the ground unsteadily. She walked over to where Kadaj had just been oh-so-obviously burned by the girl in the dress and held out a hand. " Hi. I know I have NO idea who you are, but what I do know is that obviously you are having some problems getting a dance partner and I've come to offer my services." The words came out a little more slurred and slushy than she'd meant, but she gave him a big smile and a sample of her dance moves. She lifted her arms into the air and shook her head back forth.

Rejected and Picked Up Again Kadaj grinned wickedly when he saw Cloud get up and instantly step in between between him and Aerith. He knew that would be what would get to the blond first and foremost. Though, that did not mean that he did not want to dance with Aerith; she was a kind person and he never really knew what that was in his life. He also just wanted to have fun while he was here and save a fight for another day; he could handle blondie any day.
Now Aerith had to choose between them, which she did through pointing her fingers back and forth between the two. Kadaj didn't really get it, though her finger ended up on Cloud. His face turned into a pout at first, though Aerith wasn't about to let Cloud be her only dance partner. He perked up a little at that as he watched Cloud be beckoned over to her, a sort of blank look on his face. What was he supposed to do in the meantime anyway? He hated staying still for too long; it bugged him.
This other girl that he didn't recognize came up to him just then, seeing that he got rejected by Aerith, and asked him to dance with her. Her words sounded sort of slurred and he could have sworn she was walking a bit funny. And he did not have problems getting a dance partner... Cloud just ruined everything for him, like he usually did. He thought about it for about a millisecond before grinning once more, taking her hand.
"I'd love to," he said, his voice being slightly menacing as he drew her to the dance floor. He knew how to dance a little, though he really didn't care if he made a fool of himself. He started moving to the beat, though only a little at first. He looked back at Aerith and Cloud for a brief moment, that grin still plastered on his face. Would the blond even bother dancing with her, or was it just a ploy to get him away from her? He didn't doubt the second one, though he decided not to pay attention to them anymore and started getting more into the music.

Saw That Comin' Raen took a drink while Emi completely slid off of her stool and collapsed on to the ground. He looked down at her for a second before turning around and taking another drink. " Well, that happened sooner than I thought." Hearing her talk to Kadaj he thought to himself, " I should probably stop them--well, her." Turning to Cheza, he said, " She won't hurt herself too much...right?" Raen shook his head and sighed. He was starting to feel a little tipsy himself.

Emi was an old pro at dancing having attended at least one of every kind of dance party, club, concert or rave. However, the movements were a little sloppy and she mostly just ended up jumping up and down next to Kadaj and flailing her arms about wildly. It wouldn't have looked out of place in your average mosh pit but it did look a little strange when there were only four people out on the dance floor. It also looked a bit strange because she was holding both of Kadaj's hands and he was mostly just shuffling around in time to the music. The tequila had finally taken its full hold on the girl and now she settled down a little. By a little, it is meant that she stopped jumping up and down and wrapped her arms around Kadaj's shoulder in a bear hug. The concept of personal space wasn't really effective at the moment and she started playing with a strand of his silver hair. She sighed. ' You have such pretty hair..."

First Time for Everything All right, he was getting the hang of this. This girl seemed to be a dancer and knew what she was doing, or at least a lot better than he did. He could do this, right? Yes, yes he could. He kept his smirk and started jumping up and down with her, still holding her hands. He was sure that Yazoo and Loz would both have a fit if they saw him doing anything like this, mainly because it was so unlike him, but he did these sorts of stunts exactly for that reason; he liked doing things that didn't make sense.
She stopped jumping after a while, settling down a bit. He stopped when she did, though was definitely surprised when she put her arms around his shoulder. His eyes widened to about twice their normal size when she did that, not quite sure what to make of it. Did she know who she was hugging here? She was hugging Kadaj, the one who thought destroying and killing things was the best fun anyone could have. Oh well, guess that fact kind of didn't need to go into this. She didn't need to know that he was a killer anytime soon, right? Right.
Wait, what was he about to do now? Well, she had her arms around his neck right now, so maybe he should put his arms around her. That should work. He put his hands on her back, albeit awkwardly at first because he had no idea what he was doing. Though, he got comfortable with it for a minute and kept her close; she seemed to want to do that and he didn't mind for right now; he could always do some killing later or something to remedy this.
He then felt his hair being touched; apparently, she thought it was pretty. He couldn't help but just grin at this, letting her continue to play with it. "Why thank you," he said, "I'm glad you like it." He kept this grin as he looked over at Cloud, sticking out his tongue at him for a moment before focusing back on the girl and continuing to dance with her. Yes, it was very immature of him, but he was not one to care; he was never mature to begin with anyway.

That's... Funny. It was slightly suspenseful as Aerith looked at her two possible dancing partners, and turned back to finish her wine in no hurry. She then proceeded to walk out onto the dance floor and further the suspense by moving her finger back and forth between them as if she couldn't decide. This seemed rather silly to Cloud because, although he was not typically a very cocky person, he felt fairly certain of what the decision was going to be. Of course Aerith would pick him above Kadaj... Wouldn't she? Of course she would... He let out a mental sigh of relief as her finger came to rest finally on him. Despite the predictability of the decision, it had still seemed like she had taken a very long time in making it. Following her beckoning, he stood up and walked over to her. He wasn't very happy to hear her let Kadaj know that she would dance with him later, but hopefully he would be able to avoid letting that happen. She suddenly took his hands, leading him further out onto the dance floor. Her next comment made him stop to wonder: could he actually dance. He wasn't sure that he had ever even tried. At least not within the past ten years... Unable to ignore her insisting any longer, he began to dance rather awkwardly, trying to let himself move with the music. Looking over at Kadaj, he was surprised to see some girl, obviously drunk, asking him to dance. Even more surprised was he, when she began clinging all over him and playing with his hair. And if the situation wasn't weird enough to begin with, he then began hugging her back. The situation was just so ridiculous, even Cloud couldn't help but to crack a slight grin. "I don't think you need to worry too much about Kadaj." he said to Aerith, as he looked her back in the face. "He doesn't seem to be having much trouble making new friends." It wasn't something he did very often, but he had actually just made a joke. Well, sort of. The comment had almost been meant to discourage her from thinking she needed to dance with the other guy later.

When Cloud began at least attempting to dance, Aerith smiled and danced closer to him, enjoying the feel of the bass pounding through her veins. She heard him mention Kadaj, which made her look over at the man in question. He had apparently managed to find someone else to dance with for the time being, though the girl he was with seemed full-on drunk rather than only tipsy. The sight of her clinging to Kadaj and the awkward look on Kadaj's face made her laugh. She turned her attention back to Cloud and looked him up and down, barely restraining her laughter at how uncomfortable he looked dancing. "No, no, no. Here, here." She took his large arms as best she could in her hands and wrapped them around her waist. "Here. I don't have a disease. It is okay to touch me. And it might help with your rhythm." Or lack thereof. She giggled in her head. With the music pulsing in her ears, she wrapped her own arms around his neck and tried to lead, letting him getting used to the beat of this particular song. "As for Kadaj, I'm still going to dance with him later. I told him I would." She felt Cloud's neck tense and rubbed it soothingly with one of her hands. "Hey, he seems nice. You know, if you didn't always greet him with your sword, he might seem nicer to you, too." Now that she thought about it, she couldn't remember ever actually being this close to Cloud. But she definitely liked it. Sighing, she nuzzled her head into his shoulder, then pulled back to look at him. "I think we should do this more often." She blushed. "It's a bit...warm in here, isn't it?"

"Oh my god, I have the best idea ever..." -- Kadaj sticking his tongue out at someone (presumably that blond guy he'd been stood up for) gave Emi an idea. Lazily, she picked her head up and took a step back. She lifted her hands, grabbed Kadaj's face and roughly turned it to one side. " Lion kisses!" she shouted, in order to be heard over the music. " Pass it on!" She then proceeded to lean over and lick Kadaj's cheek before he panicked. She giggled manically and insisted " You have to pass it on. You HAVE to PASS it ON!" before collapsing onto his shoulder, breathless from a new wave of giggles. Usually she wouldn't be this giggly or affectionate or clingy. But tonight she was and Kadaj was the lucky lucky young man who she had decided to attach herself to. Yay.

Let's Dance the Night Away This man seemed to think that this place was very interesting also. Before Cheza could really say anything else, Emi sat down in between Cheza and the man. She stated her apologies about spilling his drink, but they didn't seem very heartfelt. After a few moments Emi stood up, not so gracefully, and went over to the silver-haired man and pulled him out to the dance floor. The man asked if Emi would be okay, and Cheza wasn't really sure, but decided that she would be fine. “I think so.” Well it was the truth after all. Cheza noticed that Emi seemed to be getting very comfortable with the silver-haired man and Cheza was actually enjoying the scene in front of her and so she watched it play out as she sipped away at her margarita. The silver-haired man didn't really seem to know what to do with Emi. He had joined in with her when she was jumping up and down like a little kid, and now he had his arms wrapped around her as she had hers wrapped around him. He even seemed to not mind her playing with his hair. This was a very interesting place in deed. Cheza stopped watching the dancing for a while and noticed that her drink was almost gone. “Dang I think I either need another drink or I need to try out the dance floor. Do you care to join me nice man, whose name I have yet to learn?” she asked the man who she had come to the rescue of earlier. Cheza was really getting social. Maybe that was the key to getting past her shyness, she just needed to be a little tipsy first. She stood up and put her hand out to this man. “ Come on it will be fun. Please don't leave me hangin'.”

At Least I Didn't Have to Ask Raen didn't really take that much time to think about it--he'd drank just enough to finally loosen up and act like, well, a normal person. He stood up, finished off his drink, and took Cheza's hand. " My name's Raen. It would be my pleasure." He lead her out onto the dance floor and pulled her in so she spun onto his arm, dipping her back slightly. " And what's your name, if I may ask?" There was something about the music, the lights, and the whole mood that had Raen feeling completely spontaneous, albeit still a little like his socially awkward self.
