That Wasn't Nice... Loz was still smiling at his handiwork, when all of a sudden some girl was storming right up into his face. Hey, that was Cloud's girlfriend wasn't it? What did did she want-- Ow! Had she just slapped him? He flinched back as she pointed at him, thinking she might be on the verge of hitting him again. After declaring that they were all going to time out, she turned around and stormed right away to the bar. Bringing his right hand to his cheek before calling after her in an upset voice. "You big meanie!" He wasn't quite to the point of crying, but he definitely looked on the verge tears. He might not have actually gone to a corner, but as he saw Kadaj following the order he felt that he better do the same. Still not looking very happy, he moved over to the corner closest to his brother and sat down. Crossing his legs and his arms, he set his gaze straight on the ground, and began clearly pouting. What had he done to deserve getting smacked and sent to the corner? Nothing, that was what. Cloud had started it, by punching Kadaj. He was only trying to finish it by punching him back. It just wasn't fair. Something suddenly hit him in the head. Looking down, he figured out that it was a wadded up napkin. And seeing Kadaj staring straight at him, he guessed it had been him. Wondering what they should do next, he was about to mouth a question to the other remnant, when suddenly Cloud's meanie-face girlfriend came walking up and sat down next to his brother. What did she want, to slap him in the face now? Suddenly, she began crying and leaning all over him. Huh? Cocking his head to side, Loz gave Kadaj a very confused look.

Attention"It's all false love and affection You don't want me You just want the attention" I'm Not Your Toy by La Roux Good, he had gotten Loz to look at him. He felt a bit bad for Loz since what Aerith did wasn't nice. She'd have to pay for slapping his brother like that, though Kadaj wasn't in any position to do much of anything. He doubted he could really get up at this point; he was semi-comfortable in his spot anyway. Though, now that he had Loz's attention, they could begin plotting to get back at Cloud and Aerith.
Or not. Aerith could just come over and cry on him; that works too.
She had sat down next to him for some reason; Kadaj was sure she was going to smack him or something now, especially since he had just thrown something at Loz. Though, she didn't seem to see that. She was smiling at first; smiling was a good sign. He wasn't in trouble anymore. He returned the smile with a grin of his own. Though, he became incredibly confused when she started to cry, even more so when she started hugging him and sobbing into his shoulder. Loz was giving him a confused look, one that he was mirroring right back. What the heck was he supposed to now? Was she expecting sympathy from him now even though she hit his brother? No way, that wasn't going to happen.
Wait... wait just a minute. Cloud would hate her going to get sympathy from his enemy. Kadaj smirked at Loz before wrapping his arms around Aerith in an attempt to be comforting. He was never very good at this thing, Yazoo obviously the better one at it when dealing with Loz's sensitivity. Kadaj could imitate that, right? Though, what Aerith was talking about was something a little... well it had to do with him. Even if Cloud managed to kill Sephiroth one day, the three remnants would still be there. Kadaj bore the most resemblance to Sephiroth too... he had to think fast of what to say.
"There there," he said at first, then making a gentle shushing sound in an attempt to calm her down as he rubbed her back, "It's okay. I'm here now; that's what matters right?" Yeah, this was not going to go over well with Blondie, but at least he spoke more than a few words to this girl. "He's just trying to make the world a safer place for you." Sure he was Kadaj; he had to admit that he thought Cloud was pretty obsessed with chasing after Sephiroth, but now wouldn't be the time to voice it.
"He can't like Sephiroth more than you; I mean, what does Sephiroth have that you don't?" Sephiroth was not exactly the nicest person around. He would kill you as soon as look at you in most cases, a trait that Kadaj had carried on for the most part. Aerith was a nice, gentle person. Cloud had to have liked that, right? Either that he was an idiot, which Kadaj was just ready to assume anyway. "You don't have to go anywhere now. I've got you." His tone was slightly menacing, though he tried to make it as subtle as possible. He gave a wink over at Loz as he continued to hold Aerith; someone was going to need to stop blondie before he saw what was going on.
--
He was almost away; he just needed to lean down and grab the Lexicon and run out of the club for good. Zexion ignored Emi's yells and continued to try and make an escape, though he did not make it very far before he felt himself being tackled. He swayed dangerously as Emi grabbed a firm hold on his legs, making every effort he could not to fall. Was she truly that desperate to dance with him? He dared to look down at her, glaring down at what he saw was a pitiful face indeed. She was that desperate.
He had a couple of choices to make; Emi wasn't about to let go of him, though he might be able to force it and make a run for it. That would lead to him getting more attention on himself though, which wasn't something he particularly wanted. He was lucky that there had been a fight in the other part of the bar to draw attention away from them at this point. If he tried to force his way out, all eyes would be on him and his sleuth title would not be intact.
If he danced with her, which he had read about in far too many novels, he was not quite sure what would happen. Xigbar would of course use this as ammo every time he saw the Schemer, though that could easily be countered. Superior would not be proud of either of them, though he would be less proud of Xigbar for getting himself drunk and causing a spectacle. Aside from all of this, he didn't doubt Emi would forget him leaving again; he preferred his face intact instead of getting it punched once more.
He got a little bit of the shivers as she nuzzled into his legs, not quite sure he liked that. Though, if dancing with her would get this madness to stop, then so be it. "Fine," he said at long last, "One dance, and that is all. Now please let go of me and stop causing a spectacle." He was going to feel the remnant of hate later for this, but he saw no other option, not at this point.

I'm Confused Taking a sip of his new beer, Cloud saw Aerith stand up, and start heading towards Kadaj. What was she doing? Had it been the other of the two doing the approaching, he would have gone to intervene, but he wasn't going to go try to stop Aerith from doing whatever it was she was going to do. It probably wasn't anything crazy that he needed to worry about. Or so he thought, until she suddenly began crying. At first he thought her tears might have been Kadaj's doing, until she started hugging and clinging all over him. Whatever it was that was going on, he had no idea. Cloud picked up his drink, and moved somewhat closer towards the two that he had his eyes on. There was no doubt in his mind that the remnants were up to something bad. If only he could understand what was going on in Aerith's mind. Realizing that he was now standing next to Yuffie, he addressed her, though not taking his stare off it's target. "What is she doing?" he asked, his eyebrows furrowed with confusion. She was a girl too, she would understand what was going on better than him. Besides, if he wasn't mistaken she had just been talking to Aerith moments ago, before she had went to interact with Kadaj.

Yuffie watched, excited to see what Aerith was going to do. She didn't go for Cloud first though, she stumbled over to Kadaj first. It looked like she really meant it when she said she was going to give those two a hug and THEN kiss Cloud. She couldn't help but giggle. This was so entertaining! Though then Aerith's mood suddenly changed.
She was now crying and sobbing at Kadaj. Yuffie listened in the best she could as to what Aerith was saying. And she couldn't help but laugh at what she said. Cloud liking Sephiroth more than her? The thought itself was hilarious, but she had to admit with the way he obsessed over him made it seem like it sometimes. Though what surprised her was that Kadaj was consoling Aerith now. Wow, she wasn't expecting that! She wondered what Cloud would do now.
And speaking of him it was then Yuffie saw him standing next to her out of the corner of her eye. "Woah! Hey there, Cloud! Didn't notice you there," she told him, having been a bit startled by his sudden appearance. He was over here asking her what Aerith was doing. She couldn't help but giggle. "She went to uh, go spread the love. Was gonna hug those two guys and then come back over towards you and give you another kiss~!" she told him the last part said in teasingly.
"From what I've gathered right now though..." she said as she continued. "It seems like she's complaining to Kadaj over there that you focus your attention more on Sephiroth and..." She couldn't help but laugh while she said the rest of what was happening. "That you like him more than you do her!" She couldn't help but laugh, the idea just hilarious. When she managed to stop laughing and calm down, she continued some more. "Aerith might've had a bit much to drink, but she has a point. You do seem to care more about Sephiroth than anyone else."

Some light reading before passing out
He was staring upwards, sitting on the ground when Zexion had decided to let his Lexicon fall on Xigbar’s face. While his reaction was not slow, he humored him by letting the encyclopedic book actually hit. It at the very least provided him with one thing: temporary possession of the schemer’s most treasured possession. Whether he could feel emotions or not, the nobody was too fond of the book for his own good. Shortly after the hit Zexion was dragged away by the same girl who had just done the same to Xigbar, only this time it was to dance, apparently, instead of attempting murder. Xigbar removed the extra weight off his face, walking slowly back to the bar. He wasn’t going to drink this time though, he was going to enjoy a little reading. What, oh what kind of secrets did the Lexicon hold? “I wonder if the kid keeps a diary in here?” Xigbar wondered aloud, starting to flip through the pages of the book. He was mimicking Zexion’s usual hold of it, even changing his facial expression into his blank stare. Putting himself on his shoes could help understand the book’s contents. That, and the fact Zexion would be able to see him imitating him factored into his actions.

"Oh wait a second, alchohol is a depressant... great." -- " YAY!" Emi shrieked. She hadn't even been aware her voice could get that loud or that high-pitched. She sounded for all the world like a sugar-crazed toddler. She jumped up off the floor, did a little victory dance and started dragging Zexion back out to the dance floor. She loved getting her way. Already, the little altercation with Xigbar was growing blurry. She had one objective and everything else sort of slipped to the back of her mind. Except breathing and walking, but the walking was still iffy. Dancing was probably out of the question, but she wasn't about to admit that after all this work. The thoughts Hey, I'm feeling a little hungry and sleepy DID cross her mind, but only for a split second before they were deemed unimportant to the Main Objective. Not to say that she wasn't still hungry and sleepy. Once they reached an area Emi deemed appropriate, she stopped but didn't release her grip on his arm. Oh, no, he wasn't going to get away from her again. She didn't trust him as far as she could throw him- which, as a side note, was actually probably pretty far- so she kept a tight hold on him even as she put her head on his shoulder drowsily. She had her arms around his waist... a bit tighter than what was needed. He wasn't going to run. Suddenly, she was getting very sleepy. What time was it? When was the last time she'd slept? Or eaten for that matter? " You smell good," she muttered.

The Key Might Be Jealousy In a more sober state of mind, Aerith probably wouldn't be venting all her feelings to Kadaj, especially considering that Cloud didn't like him very much. But she was enjoying being held and having a shoulder to cry on, even if it wasn't the shoulder she wished she had. Somewhere in the back of her mind, she had an inkling that Kadaj wasn't really doing this out of the goodness of his heart. But who was she to question motives? Even in her drunken state, she still clung to the idea that Kadaj had some good buried deep...deep...deep down inside himself. He was assuring her that he was here, and that was all that really mattered. She was half-inclined to agree with him. After all, if Cloud was running off with Sephiroth, what was to stop her from running off with one of Sephiroth's remnants! And then, an idea struck her. A crazy idea, and one that she would probably end up regretting later, but it was an idea, nonetheless. She attempted to dry her tears and sat up a little bit, though she was still leaning close to Kadaj. The only problem with the current idea floating around in her head was that it might result in the death of Kadaj, and she just couldn't have someone's blood on her hands. But she wanted Cloud to notice her somehow! And he wasn't going to, unless she did something that caught his attention even more than Sephiroth ever could. "Um...you know, I really am sorry about yelling at you earlier. Is there...anything I can do to make it up to you?" She fixed him with a wide, innocent stare and played her fingers through a bit of his silver hair. He really was handsome, when she thought about it, though on a different sort of level from Cloud. That didn't mean he was any less attractive, especially now that she had so much alcohol in her system. "You're being so kind to me, even though I lashed out at you before..." She shifted suddenly to sit sideways in his lap. Her fingers traced their way down his cheek. "Do you ever get lonely, too? Like me?"

Lonesome Evening Kadaj couldn't say that he particularly minded his current position right now. He was sitting semi-comfortably on the floor with Cloud's girl in his arms. Blondie was looking straight at them too, but he wasn't doing anything... yet. He was talking to Yuffie again, probably plotting how to get Aerith back and hurt Kadaj in one move. That wasn't going to happen anytime soon, for Aerith seemed comfortable in the remnant's hold for now. She was still sobbing on him as he kept rubbing her back for her. This comforting thing wasn't as hard as it looked.
Well, this was working out even better than he hoped. She was apologizing to him for yelling at him earlier; that was nice of her. She was giving him this look too, her tears seemingly gone. His hard work had helped her, at least that. Then, for the second time this evening, his hair was played with. What was it about his hair that made people play with it? He wasn't really sure he had an answer to that question, but he didn't particularly care. He smiled back at her, letting her do as she wished with his hair and wondering what Cloud was going to do seeing as he was doing absolutely nothing wrong here.
Though, he had to admit, he was surprised when she placed herself on his lap. His eyes widened significantly, definitely surprised that Aerith was going this far to apologize to him. Did she know how much she was pissing off Cloud by doing this? She probably didn't; she had something to drink too didn't she? Oh well, he might as well play along with this. He didn't truly mind and he could only imagine the sort of look that Loz was giving him right this minute as he kept his arms around Aerith. She then asked him a question, his eyes quickly traveling to the floor and his smile fading as she traced her hand along his cheek.
"All of the time," he told her, his voice barely audible, "It's unbearable, isn't it?" It wasn't a complete lie; he occasionally got jealous of how Cloud was surrounded by friends and all he had were his brothers. Kadaj never made friends; he destroyed any possibility of friends... quite literally.
--
"Kingdom Hearts, please let this not be a long song," Zexion thought to himself as he was dragged over to the dance floor. During that process, he managed to watch Xigbar pick up the Lexicon after being hit in the face with it. He was opening it, causing the Schemer's blood pressure to rise slightly. If Number Two found out things that he had written in those pages, he could very well be fading back to oblivion before he got back to the castle. Though, Xigbar most likely would not remember anything he read... or at least Zexion hoped he would not. Emi was determined not to let him go.
She only let go of him to grab him again, her arms around his waist now. He was truly beginning to wonder why he had agreed to this. Oh yes, he did not want to cause a spectacle, that's why. She was holding him rather tightly too, making him a bit uncomfortable and sort of wonder what he was supposed to do now. He couldn't leave his arms hanging there he supposed; he might as well make this at least somewhat look natural. He snaked his arms around her neck and kept a somewhat loose hold.
He wanted to give her a look after he heard what she said. What was he supposed to say to that? "Thank you," he managed to say, dancing a little bit to the music. Emi didn't seem to really be dancing, simply using him as a pillow. "Should I be glad?" he asked, attempting small talk. He didn't particularly feel like having her fall asleep on him; he might as well keep her awake.

Empathy By the time her fingers had reached his chin, Aerith was overflowing with empathy. So, Kadaj got lonely, too. It was a horrible thing, loneliness. Even though she did have Leon and Yuffie and even Cid when Cloud was away, none of them quite fulfilled her need for companionship the way Cloud did. Though, that was a bit ironic, when she thought about it. The blond swordsman hardly said two words to her whenever they were together. But there was just something about his physical presence. "Yes, it is unbearable. You feel like you're the only person in the entire world who can understand what you feel and how you think." She nuzzled her cheek softly against his and sighed, her voice barely a murmur. "I have friends, but...sometimes, I feel like the odd person out. Like I'm some sort of...freak, almost. And that inevitably leads to thoughts of not ever being good enough." A small smile crossed her face, and she took one of Kadaj's hands in hers, rubbing her thumb against the top of it. "I'm never sure what it is I'm supposed to be good enough for. I can only be myself, not anyone else, you know? But...I still have those feelings." At the moment, she had forgotten that Cloud was most likely watching her with Kadaj. She didn't think about how much her actions were probably making him seethe. And even if she had originally started down this course to make Cloud jealous and attract his attention, now she was genuinely concerned about Kadaj and their mutual problem with loneliness. Impulse seized her, and she gave him a little peck on his cheek.

Yuck Loz was both confused and unhappy to see Kadaj hugging the jerk that had just slapped him in the face. What was going on here? He couldn't tell what was being said, but Kadaj seemed to be doing a lot of talking... As he received a wink from the other remnant, he felt as if thing made more sense. So he was trying to pull some kind of trick slash plan sort of thin. That was just like his brother. Though he still wasn't entirely sure what exactly the plan was; it was probably very complicated. He would just have to wait and see what happened... He lost much of his happiness with the way things were going, when the lady jumped into Kadaj's lap and began to play with his hair. She then began to move her fingers up his face. "Ewwww." he said aloud, though chances were nobody actually heard him. This was getting gross. His arms around, and now she was putting her face up against her face. And just when he thought things couldn't get any grosser, she freaking kissed him! Even if this was all part of the plan, he wasn't liking all of this seduction going on. To make matters worse, he wasn't even sure who was doing the seducing at this point. He turned his head in the other direction. "I'm gonna throw up." Obviously, this was an exaggeration, and the curiosity of what was going to happen next had him quickly turning his head back.

He let her nuzzle against him, the company nice. The alcohol was still in his system and relaxing him, allowing him nuzzle back a bit. Her words were so blatantly true for him too now that he thought about it, temporarily ignoring his 'annoy Cloud as much as possible' objective; Aerith was doing all of the work for him in that category, allowing him to be slightly lazy in meeting this objective. He sighed with her, showing his agreement and only slightly tightening his hold; he didn't want her going back to Cloud now. He smiled softly at her kissing his cheek; tomorrow they would be enemies again, but Kadaj could settle with this for now.
"You're not a freak," he told her. Actually, out of the entire gang of Cloud's friends, she was the most normal out of them all. Yuffie was hyperactive and Cloud was anti-social. Aerith was the perfect medium and plenty nice to boot; well, that's what he thought anyhow. His eyes went back to the floor again as he mumbled his next words. "I'm the freak here. I'm just a monster." He bit his lip for a moment, though not hard enough to draw blood. This alcohol was doing a number on his already unstable emotional state and Aerith had to hear it all. To think, this all started because he hated blondie.
"You have friends," he went on to say, keeping his eyes to the floor, "I've got Loz and Yazoo... and that's it. Everyone one else hates me. I'm a monster. You're the only one who has ever been nice to me." He sobbed a little but attempted to control it. Part of him was milking her empathy a bit to annoy Cloud, but the other part of him, the alcohol in him and his unstable emotions, felt truly and utterly alone. "Everyone hates me or... they're afraid of me. Everyone looks at me and they see..." He didn't even need to say who he knew they saw when they looked at him.
"They all compare me to him," he went on, knowing he was rambling, "But I never ever will equal up to him. I'm only a remnant. It's so unbearable." A couple of tears had rolled down his cheek now. Yes, part of this was to meet his objective; he was very good at persuading people when he needed to. He just wanted to be comforted.

"You know, I'm feeling a little bit.... zzzz..." -- " You smell a lot better than any of the other guys I've danced with like this," Emi said quietly. She was beginning to mellow out a bit although she was still very, very drunk. " They mostly smelled like beer and cigarettes but you smell like..." She pressed her nose into the side of his neck, breathing in deeply. " You smell like soap aaaaaand..." She trailed off, her last thought turning into a yawn. She was sort of kind of dancing now. If swaying back and forth too slow for the music without even moving her feet counted as dancing. Suddenly, she slapped Zexion's arms away from her neck and shouted " NO! It's the other way around." She moved her arms from his waist to his neck and when she was satisfied with the new arrangement, she put her head back down on his shoulder and closed her eyes. She was out in a matter of seconds, having used her last vestige of strength to move her arms. This was a good thing for her. At least until she woke up with a massive headache. However, it was not good for Zexion because Emi's entire weight shifted forward and they both fell. She continued to sleep peacefully and lightly snore, ignoring the flashing lights, droning bass and Zexion's flailing.

While not an actor, I can sure as hell improvise A crowd of drunkards had gathered around Xigbar in the last couple of minutes. He wasn’t nearly as wasted as them, and was in fact, the one keeping them entertained. With Zexion’s Lexicon in his hand, he recited passages from his journal notes, such as him considering Emi nothing more than a tool at a certain point. He made special emphasis on the word tool, earning whistles and other comments from his public. Deciding to get a larger crowd, he stood up, his public following him as he gathered a small following through the club, walking slowly to where the schemer and the daughter of a so called whore were. He quickly ran out of useable material, cursing Zexion under his breath, so he started to get creative. “It was then I deemed her only a tool and nothing more. Her libido runs wild, especially at night. When will she get the hint nobodies don't care about THAT?” he recited, reaching the pair and hoping for that to create a fight between the drunk girl and the nobody kid. However, he found them laying on the ground, the girl apparently passed out. Whether those words would reach her not, remained to be seen. “Well, seems like you got to… whatever number that base is. I guess congratulations are in order,” he sighed, closing the book in his hands.

Surely Missing Out Zexion never quite fully realized how creepy it was be able to sense others by scent. This ability had naturally come to be very useful for the Schemer and certainly saved the Organization, and himself, a fair amount of time on various missions and such. However, as Emi started describing what she smelled of him, even going so far as to take a whiff, he started feeling a tad uncomfortable. This would of course not affect him sensing people by scent, but he still felt rather awkward that Emi was sniffing him and describing how he smelled of soap. Yes, he bathed regularly; did that really to be drawn out?
Clearly, this was not his evening. He managed to pass a glance over to Xigbar, who had drawn a considerable crowd of people over to him. The Lexicon was open in front of him and he was forcing himself to look as Zexion typically did when reading from the book. Though, the things he was saying were certainly not meant to be read aloud. The Schemer was never fond of anyone else knowing his thoughts other than himself, though clearly his supposed thoughts about Emi were being told to people he did not even know. How endearing.
The Freeshooter approached Zexion with the crowd, the illusionist glaring at the other. Where was he going to go with this now? Emi was either not paying attention or tuning him out, for she simply decided to yell at him for keeping his ands in the wrong place, slap him, and then change positions. Zexion kept as loose of a hold on her waist as possible, continuing to glare at Xigbar. He seemingly had more to read out of the Lexicon, though he shouldn't have much more; the Schemer's thoughts weren't exactly very riveting.
Oh, of course, he was going to make something up. All right, he had about had it. As he was about to shove Emi off of him to claim his weapon back, she fell asleep and sent them both to the floor. The crowd of course laughed at this, Zexion glowering. He flailed for a moment before realizing an easy solution. A Corridor of Darkness was cast under him, absorbing only him. Emi was left on the floor asleep as the illusionist appeared next to Xigbar through another Corridor of Darkness. It disappeared, leaving only the two, and the crowd, around them.
He did not say a word to Xigbar at first, snatching the Lexicon away from him with quick hands and keeping it cradled in one arm. The two stood at relatively the same height, Xigbar maybe an inch or two taller if that. Zexion decided to step closer to him for a moment, a smirk on his face. "Hello dearest," he said, his tone sarcastic as he gazed at the Freeshooter with a gleam in his eyes. "Can't get enough of me can you? This should suffice for a while." He brought the Lexicon behind the Freeshooter's head and did a hard, horizontal whack from behind.
"We are through," he told Xigbar casually, "It was not me, it was you. I almost pity you; I was undoubtedly the best thing that happened to you. Ah well; good night Xigbar." With those final words, he walked to the outside of the bar, leaving the crowd and everyone else behind. The Freeshooter knew how to play dirty and be antagonistic, but he knew that the Schemer could do it straight back to him if he so chose. With the stench of alcohol behind him, he stood in front of the club and stared at it.
"I wonder what this would resemble if it were in ruins," he mused to himself, Lexicon still in his hand.

Idealism She listened to Kadaj open up to her, which was exactly the thing she wished Cloud would do. Though, the issues here in this situation were probably not the same ones that nestled inside the blond swordsman. Or were they? Cloud was always running off, afraid that he might be a danger to those around him, so why would it be such a stretch to say that he considered himself a kind of monster, too? Aerith would have none of that talk from anybody. She lifted his chin with two of her fingers so she could look him in the eyes. "You're only a monster if you believe that's what you are. But I don't see a monster here." She tapped his nose with her index finger. It was completely true for her, and even if she hadn't been drunk, she would probably still not think he was a monster. Though, she also probably wouldn't be conveying that sentiment to him while sitting in his lap. When he spoke about not being able to measure up to Sephiroth, she had to lift his eyes to hers again. "Who says that you have to be exactly like Sephiroth? Aren't you your own person, capable of making your own decisions about things? Just because you bear somewhat of a resemblance...that doesn't mean you have to imitate him." She leaned against him again once again, breaking their eye contact, and rested her head on his shoulder. His neck was inches from her nose. "I don't like fighting. But everybody always wants to do it. You and Cloud and Sephiroth... You all would much rather draw your swords than try to talk things out. Why is that? I think I'd like to see everybody be friends...or at least...not be so eager to kill each other..." Her eyelids were drooping, her words becoming softer and taking on a drowsier tone as she went on. "Wouldn't that be nice? No more fighting...no more misunderstandings...or being offended...or getting so angry that the only way to cure it is to stab somebody... I'd like that so much..." She closed her eyes and was now half-asleep, breathing quietly into his neck.
